On December 12, 2023 the Board for Contractors issued a Final Opinion and Order regarding Patriot Chimney Services, LLC for the following prohibited acts:
A. Failure of those engaged in residential contracting to comply with the terms of a written contract that contains the following minimum requirements; 1. When work is to begin and estimated completion. 2. a plain language clause concerning events beyond the control of the contractor and a statement explaining that delays do not constitute abandonment and not included in calculating time frames. 3. A statement of assurance that the contractor will comply with all local requirements for building permits, inspections and zoning. 4. Disclosure of cancellation right of both parties. 5. Contractor's name, address, license number, class of license and any specialty services. 6. A statement that any changes to the contract must be in writing and signed by both parties. 7. A statement notifying consumers of the Transaction Recovery Fund and how to contact the board for claim information.
B. Any change of address of record or principal place of business shall be reported in writing to the Board within 30 days of the change.
