On September 20, 2023, we hired ****** **************************** to cut down and trim trees in our backyard for the agreed upon price of $4000.00. the worked performed was not to our satisfaction, and the ***** that needed to grinded - which was discussed prior to with ****** and included in the final price was not done. I've tried several times since this date to get in contact with ****** but have not been successful. i've called multiple times, sent text messages, which eventually was answered, only to say they will be out this week. when i followed up with ****** this past Saturday, September 30th. i received no response. i called today, October 1st. only to be forwarded to voicemail. i've sent an email asking them reach out to me so the agreed and paid upon job that was supposed to be done completely could be finished and done to our satisfaction. from September 22nd until today, October 1st. I am still waiting for the job to be finished.At this point, I feel like I've been scammed out of hard-earned money. i am still waiting on an invoice. I would like a full refund. The work performed was not to our satisfaction. The ***** previously discussed has not been grinded.Initial Complaint

On Aug 3, 2023, R. Settle and Sons took out two trees from the **** Nanto yard for $4,000 at ************************************************************. A half of one of the trees had fallen on our garden path. *** and crew took out the two trees OK, but they left a mess of branches on the garden path. While *** was taking out the second tree, I asked if he would rake the branches on the path before they left. He said they would. I paid them $4,100 for the job of which $100 was a tip. Before paying, I asked his associate collecting the payment if they had raked the branches from the first tree. He assured me that they had. The next day, I checked the path, and it was still a royal mess. I contacted ***, and he assured me that they would come by and do the raking as promised. A week passed, and we were expecting visitors, so I hired a man to help me clean up the mess. I contacted *** and told him we had done the work and that since he did not do as promised, to please return the $100 tip. He agreed but never returned the $100 despite my reminding him twice. On Sept 25, I sent a Venmo request to *** Settle to send $100. He refused. I had warned him that if he did not pay as he promised, I would report him to the BBB.Business response

We were suspost to meet the customer was out of the country i then told him to contact me when he got back he didnt not an it slipped my mind we dont have a problem paying him for his time at all an it was a thunderstorm when we left this gentlemans yard but im willing to make it right.Customer response

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
After returning from Iceland, I sent *** Settle a Venmo request for the $!00. He had asked if I had a Venmo account. He refused to pay via Venmo. I do not accept his promise to pay because he has promised to pay several times already and knows how to do it. He can pay on Venmo, mail a check to me, or leave it at our house where he agreed to previously..

Like I said it was a honest mistake if you wanna fix it Im willing to pay you can call me ********** or my wife ********** an we will get you paid right away sorry for the inconvenience
