  I took my car in because there was a spot that needed to be welded. A mechanic and I both saw under the car that there was a leak next to the catalytic converter. He told me to take it to Benny’s to be welded. I told them what was wrong he said he would look at it. He came back and said “There is no catalytic converter on your car “!!!!! Afraid of confrontations and not in what else to do I paid him $93 to “straight pipe it”. Then when I went to get in the car it was missing so bad it was shaking and it was dying!!!! It was also extremely loud. It ran perfectly fine when I pulled in. It was my daily driver. I pick I my grandson up at school everyday. He told me “his services were done and I needed to leave”. I left in tears out $100 and my car missing a catalytic converter!!! I simply want a refund for what was paid to them to “fix” my car.

  When she brought in the car she said it was not running right.   When we put the car up on the lift it did not have a catalytic converter, someone has welded a straight pipe for the exhaust.   Pipe was cut short and the fumes were getting in the car.  I welded additional pipe on the end so that the exhaust fumes were not getting in the car.

  I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This is the same lie he tried to tell on the day the car was taken in for them to repair a leak next to the catalytic converter. It was running pretty when we pulled in the lot. The very day before I was under the car with a mechanic that showed me the leak that needed to be fixed NEXT to the catalytic converter!!!! Then when I get in my car after they “worked” on it the car wouldn’t idle!!! We’ve since had to put $600 into the vehicle. I drive the car daily into I made the mistake of taking it to Benny’s!!!!  Regards, ******* ******
