On or around 4/3/2023 I took my car to Price Kia to repair a known issue of P0441 Evaporative Emission System, incorrect Purge Flow. Price Kia performed various services which were likely unnecessary such as replacing my catalytic converter and replacing a strut and spring. They charged me $2269 for this and turned off the check engine light without repairing the purge flow issue. On or around 4/19/2023 I returned to Price Kia to have them fix the problem with the purge flow. They told me that there was a mouse in my engine air filter (which I do not believe), told me the purge flow issue was fixed and charged me $71 and turned off the check engine light. After driving 10 miles the check engine light came back on with the same purge flow issue.I really need my car repaired and need *** to take care of this. I feel Ive paid enough for bogus repairs and should have the original issue fixed at no further cost.

Thank you for reaching out.  The customer brought the vehicle in on April 3, 2023 and the check engine light code was P0420 which was a failure of the catalytic converter.  This was replaced to fix the problem.  We also performed replacement of the purge control valve, suspension strut and coil spring.

On April 19, 2023 the vehicle was brought back in and the check engine light code was P050A which was cold start idle air control system.  This was a completely different code.  A dead rodent was found in the engine air box.  We did a cursory examination of the wiring and didn't see anything readily apparent.  However, rodents are incredibly destructive when they get inside a vehicle and it can often take days to find all the damage done.  It is likely that this is the cause of the check engine light coming back on.

The vehicle has ******* miles (approximately) and it is completely normal with that many miles to experience issues.

Lastly, Price Imports LLC (DBA Price Kia) was sold to the *************** on 10 July 2023.  We are no longer in business.  Customer can still take it to the Kia ****** of her choice and give them a chance to diagnose and repair the issue.

I purchased my 2017 *** ******* from Price Kia located in *************** **. since Ive had this vehicle it has been in and out of the shop at ************ It has had several recalls. The turbo was replaced, the fuel pump was replaced and just recently the engine was replaced. Once the engine was replaced it would lose all power going over mountains or hills. I took it back several times telling service there was an issue. Service said they fixed it several time and it was never fixed! My family went to ** after *** said they fixed it for it to break down on them. After contacting *********** in ****** telling them they didnt fix it again, the told me I needed another motor. They allowed me to drive away from their shop knowing it needed another motor. Then I find out they put all old parts from my previous engine into my new engine they just replaced (not smart). They proceed to tell me to call *** ******** to tell them the car is broken down, its under warranty with the new engine. I proceed to do that starting at 2pm in the day and getting no where. I was transferred to four different people and was repeatedly hung up on. I had to pay for my own towing $170.00, just to get it to another *** in ****** ** , which wont be looked at for another week. For a problem that should of been fixed four service appointments ago. Not to mention we are now stuck with over $600 in a rental to get home from **, I have no vehicle to get to work or my kids to school, Im going to have to figure out how to even get my car from ** if anybody in *********** is intelligent enough to fix it! This has cause so much emotional damage and stress. The unfortunate part is its a Lemon car but VA law wont accept it out the timeframe. Such bad business by *********** and *** ********* I would NEVER recommend a **** Scammers! Who knows what other old parts they put in my new engine or turbo! I did my inspection there and they were going to fail me for a drive belt. You cant fail for that!
