              I ordered Cox on 5/14/2024. the order was for 500 mbps at ***/month and a self-service installation. When I received my modem it was dead on arrival. The unit would not power on. I was told by customer service that they needed to send a technician out for $*** to properly install the unit. I said "no, you need to send me a brand new WORKING unit that powers on". They refused to send me a unit and instead made me drive out to a Cox store to pick a new unit myself. I drove out and got the new unit and got it working finally. I received my bill and it is for ***0mbps at $**/month. That is not what I ordered. I have the email of what I ordered. I was on the Cox chat service for an hour this morning and they eventually just started ignoring me. I have screenshots and timestamps. Then I tried the chat service again this afternoon 5/29/2024 and they forwarded me to a call center and I got forwarded to two more departments. I was on the phone with them for 36 minutes and they did not even attempt to solve my problem, they only attempted to sell me more stuff I did not ask for. I said "I want the 500 mbps at ***/month that was agreed on" and they hung up on me.

              Why am I experiencing all of these outages? I pay my bill on time every month and I have had 2 technicians come over to test my modem. I walk outside to the cable box and see it open behind my complex with all of the wires exposed. That means it rains inside, snows, etc. That itself it very poor for that to look that way. The apartment complex could care less. The only reason I;m using Cox is because this came with the complex. I can't wait to move out and switch to another provider. Another tech is coming out again. I work from home, it;s not fair that I can't get reliable internet. My internet has been out for 3 days straight.

              Dear BBB, Cox Communications is responding to the complaint received from your office on October 3,2024, with the assigned BBB Complaint ID# *****. Cox apologizes to our customer for her service issues. A Senior Customer Care Specialist contacted our customer on October 8, 2024, in response to her complaint. A technician was dispatched to the customers home and addressed her concerns. We also sent out an escalation technician to address her concerns of equipment that is exposed to the elements. That technician found that unit needs to be replaced and has scheduled our construction team to do the replacement. We have provided the customer our direct contact information should she have any additional concerns regarding this issue. Sincerely, The Sr. Customer Care Team
