This transaction happened 11/21/23 and I was charged $44 for a service that was not completed. They were to inspect a vehicle and replace the third brake light and two front blinker lights. Upon having the car picked up, I was told parts would be $800-$300. I got these parts for $28 at a local auto store. Not only were they over charging and lying about not being able to get parts, the leather seats in my vehicle has a small rip when dropping it off, but when picking the vehicle up the entire leather piece was ripped off. After asking the workers why this is, the simply said its an older car, its not our problem and walked away. It was very hard to hear this when nothing had been able to be completed and not even compensation was given. I would like to receive at least a refund for the $44, even tho the leather seat costs much more than that.

When the customer dropped off her vehicle for a State Inspection, she informed us that the third brake light and both turn signals in the front were not working.  She gave authorization to replace the bulbs.  We replaced the bulbs, but the light sockets and assemblies had water in them.  This requires replacement of the sockets, bulbs and lamp assemblies so that water would not damage the new sockets.  I have attached Repair Order number ***** stating that we did not charge her any labor for the three bulbs that we replaced because the lights were still not working.  The only fees charged were for labor of $20.00 for the Rejected State Inspection and the parts of $23.40 for the three bulbs.  The cost estimate for two sockets and two lamp assembly replacements were $360.00 to $400.00 for parts and labor.  The customer did not approve these charges.

As for the seat of this 23 year old car where the leather was in poor condition and dry rotted, she admitted that it was already torn and the threads and seam had become unattached in places but not ripped out.  We did not feel any responsibility to repair a dry rotted seat that was already torn.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[As a consumer, one should only be charged for proper services. The services completed by Moores Chevrolet **** were insufficient and not completed as stated. Also noted that the damage done was not compensated for. One brings a vehicle to get serviced in good conscience that it will be treated with care. However, this was not the case. Despite there being a small tear in the leather seat, it is in fact not dry rotted, it was ripped. The threads were pulled and the company damaged this more than it was before hand. I feel that a company should be responsible for damage to someones property despite it being 23 years old. That car is a classic vehicle with only 300 ever made. It is worth over $40,000 and it was damaged by their doing. I would like to see compensation for this as it was their responsibility. ]

      Regards,
