I received an email on 3/2/2023 from World (now Method Gym) informing the payment was increasing. I reached out and spoke to ***** to inform that I wanted to cancel the membership and was advised it would be canceled. On April 3, I was charged another fee. I called in and was advised it takes 31 days from the date of cancelation to take effect...on May 5 I was charged another 5 however when I called I needed to send an email. I called back on June 5th because I was charged AGAIN. the gentleman that answered said it can only be canceled by in person or by phone. At which point he said he could cancel it. .Fast forward to July 5th I was charged again this time I called and the gentleman said there was no calls ever documented. I have record of the call and let them know I needed to cancel the membership. At that time he said he would leave message for the owner and cancel the membership. I received a voicemail from ****** stating she received the message and that in order for the membership to be canceled I need to call or come in person..Furious I went in person and spoke to **** at which point he advised he was putting in the cancelation however nothing was documented..I asked how ****** get the message to call me from 7/5 if I didnt call in??? I received an email from ******* asking if I desired to keep my membership or cancel...I have been clear in my desire to cancel and it has gone on deaf ears...I just want them to cancel my membership without the additional fee they keep trying to charge me!Initial Complaint

Shady business. My debit card on file had expired. However, the manager called me to resolve the issue and we were able update my card on file. Even after resolving the issue, they proceeded to charge me 3 consecutive $20 fees on top of the membership fee each month. I have made multiple attempts to call and request a refund with no luck. I have since cancelled my account and they are still charging me. My only option was to put a stop payment request from my bank.Initial Complaint

I cancelled my membership with World Gym in January 2022 and we cancelled my husbands membership on September 2022. World Gym keeps sending me emails regarding our memberships. They have been paid and the accounts have been settled, but they are still sending us emails regarding memberships we no longer have with them. When I went in to cancel my husbands membership I made sure mine was cancelled in January. They verified that both memberships were cancelled and we would no longer receive correspondence from them regarding our memberships. I have contacted our bank they cancelled both of our old devit cards mine ending in **** and my husbands ending in ****. We do not know what else to do because we have talked to them until we are blue in the face. Simce the new management took over they have been trying to basically steal money from their members. This business needs to have an audit of memberships and payme ts. Many of the old members have left and went to other gyms due to their accounting. If you could please help in this matter I would greatly appreciate it.
