Paid for a motor from Virginia diesel Delivered late after numerous lies. After installing and running I have had many issues. Issues include - oil cooler / gaskets failure 3x - blown head gasket - warpped head - valve guides and seals bad/leaking Mr Jacobs liability was for parts only. He has yet to pay for anything except the first bad oil cooler. He would ignore my tries to communicate with him until I had to get parts from the deal, sent him invoices with attached receipts and photos documenting failures and issues. He refuses to hold up his end of warranty and his motors still presenting major problems.

Mr. ********* purchased a remanufactured Caterpillar 3126 engine from Virginia Diesel in June 2023 for a boat with two engines.  Virginia Diesel provided Mr. ********* a Quotation before he purchased the engine.  The following terms were conspicuously printed on the Quotation: “All parts must be returned as you received the engine,” and “VA Diesel/(Jacobs diesel must be notified prior to any repairs during warranty period or the warranty will be void.”  After receiving the engine, Mr. ********* failed to return parts that he claimed were defective so that Virginia Diesel could examine the parts and, if warranted, replace them.  Virginia Diesel cannot tell whether the failed parts are from the engine it provided or from the boat’s other engine unless it inspects the failed parts.  Despite Mr. *********** failure to return the parts, Virginia Diesel provided him a replacement oil cooler and gaskets on September 5, 2023 in an attempt to accommodate him.  Mr. ********* accepted Virginia Diesel’s replacement of the oil cooler and gaskets and did not further contact Virginia Diesel until March 2024.  He then claimed that the head gasket had blown.  Virginia Diesel was, and is, willing to provide Mr. ********* a replacement head gasket in exchange for the head gasket that he claims was blown, but he has failed to return it.  In April 2024, Mr. ********* claimed that the oil cooler had failed again.  Virginia Diesel was, and is, willing to provide Mr. ********* a second replacement oil cooler in exchange for the head gasket that he claims was blown, but Mr. ********* refuses to return it.  Despite this, Mr. ********* obtained replacement parts and repairs from third parties without first notifying Virginia Diesel, thus voiding the warranty.   Respectfully, Mr. *********** claim that Virginia Diesel ignored Mr. *********** attempts to communicate is false.  Virginia Diesel promptly communicated by text message with Mr. ********* each time Virginia Diesel received a text from him.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action did not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The business owner has promised me that he will send me a refund of my money, but as of this date I have not received the refund, the engine or any other means of satisfaction. I have spoken to him this afternoon and he says he will send me the refund, but I am sceptical about whether I'll actually get anything. Hopefully he will honor his word and send it to me, however, I cannot claim satisfaction on the claim until I receive the refund. Regards, ***** ******

I sent $16,000 deposit. He promised a rebuilt engine in 4 months. He did not send an engine for 8 months and I lost a whole boating season. I now worry if the rebuilt one will perform. There was to be a warranty however he failed to send documents. The total cost was $23,000. Promises not met. Lies about engine, assistance with insurance and deadlines. Then he tells me of funerals he must attend. There were four during my wait. He had an excuse for everything.
