Our 2-year-old son enrolled at the LadyBug Academy ("LadyBug") in September 2022. Unfortunately, after only attending the daycare for 3 days, our son was infected with a bad case of respiratory disease, which resulted in hospitalization, and multiple trips to the doctor. He was diagnosed with reactive airway disease. Even more than 2 months after our son's enrollment, he must be under a nebulizer and steroid medication twice daily. Our pediatrician recommended that because of our son's weak lungs, he should stop going to daycare for the next 2 months. We paid LadyBug a total of $2,614.50, which included ($1,643 for Tuition, an $821 Refundable Deposit, and other fees). In Sep and Oct, we made multiple phone calls to inform them of our son's situation and our desire to suspend his enrollment temporarily. Unfortunately, no one answered the phone, and there was no option to leave a voicemail. We received the following email on October 6: "I wanted to . . . follow up on ****** enrollment at Ladybug Academy. ****** hasn't been at school most of the September, and also his enrollment for October hasn't been paid. We also haven't received any notification about un enrollment, so forth we hold his space at Ladybug Academy, and expect the payment for this month, and 30 days notice in case you like to unenroll him from our school." On October 12, I had a call with the owner, Ms. Olga R*****. After explaining the difficult circumstances that we had faced, she refused to return the security deposit or provide us with any credits for the future. She threatened to charge us another $3286 (for all of Oct and Nov) because we did not give her a 30-day un enrollment notice. Given the extenuating circumstances that our family faced, it is only fair for us to receive some kind of refund. 1 Ms. R***** has refused to send us a copy of the agreement that we signed, 2 She threatened to charge us $3286 for Oct and Nov. 3 Paying 2,614 for 3 days of service is unreasonable.
