On Friday April 28th 2023, Sage Title Group located in Blacksburg VA mailed a check in my name (*****************************) to my old address which is *******************************Pulaski, VA *********. The check was for my father ******************************* house he owned at ************************Pulaski, VA ******** that we sold. I'm very upset that they sent the check to my old address because I do not have a way to get the check and I also have tried calling Sage several times while leaving voicemails with no answer or call back. I would like to know if they are going to resend the check or what I need to do. Thank you.Business response

On September 14, 2020 I bought a house in Cumberland Maryland and used Sage title company to settle. In June of 2021 I got a tax bill from Allegany county saying that the taxes from before I bought the house had not been paid in the amount of $374.94 When I settled on the house the title company said that the prior year taxes had been paid by the previous owner, which was not the case. I contacted the title company in mid July and informed them of the fact that the prior year taxes were not paid. The title company executive *********************** keeps telling me that they are going to pay the bill but as is September 21,2021 it has not been paid. I have called dozens of times and they never return my calls. I need to get this resolved so I can pay this taxes.Business response

I apologize for the delay in responding. I did not see the initial email with the complaint. I have consulted with the branch that handled this settlement and the payment for the overdue taxes has been sent out. The delay in payment was due to the fact that the branch originally reached out to the seller for payment of the overdue taxes. The branch has been advised that going forward they should pay the taxes and then attempt to recover the funds from the seller so that the buyer is not receiving overdue notices for taxes that are not their responsibility.
