I left an inflatable Christmas item with sentimental value with Appliance Fix-It for motor repair on 3/20/22, paid a $20 cash deposit, and was told they'd call. Not one word from them for over 2 months, so I called and was told they'd not gotten to it yet. Now it's nearly July and I now understand they've closed, evicted apparently with little notice, and without any contact from them whatsoever.Today, I saw customer pleas posted on the doors with claim checks from people like me seeking their property. Windows/doors are papered over, but there are workers inside. One saw me and said Appliance Fix-It was evicted for $37K back due rent and took everything with them when they left. I would very much like to have my property returned, as I said, it has more sentimental value than monetary value. And it wouldn't hurt to have my $20 deposit refunded as well. I brought in a vacuum needing belt repair on approximately 6/3-6/22 and was advised it should be ready Tu or Wed 6/7 or 6/8. I left my phone number for a call when it was ready, prepaying for the service/material. I received no call, and was unable to return by 6/10 when sign on door said the business would be moving. Upon returning sometime in the period 6/13-19, I found a locked, dark storefront with no information, and a phone that rings to a ******* message "Welcome to ******* Wireless. Your call cannot be completed as the party is temporarily unavailable".Initial Complaint

Appliance fix-it offers appliance, small engine, lawn and garden equipment repair, etc. On June 3 they accepted my **** weed trimmer for repair and charged me $50 in advance. They said it would take 5-7 days. Having not heard from them about a completed repair, and they did not answer their phone. So, I went by their store on June 14 and found it closed with paper covering the windows. I hereby request an investigation to recover my weed trimmer and the $50 I have paid. I know that others are in the same position.Sincerely, *************************, Arlington,Va.
