To begin with, Mr Straw apparently didn't read all the information I sent to him in January when we first hired him. If he had, he would have seen my break down of payments & charges for the customer we were taking to court & the back of our contract that specifically states where we file & how much interest we're allowed to charge. He sent me an email in August with no attachment & because of that, I didn't know we had a court date set in September, so I missed it. Regardless of whether or not I had shown, up, they sent the defendant home because she was running a fever, so we wouldn't have been able to have our case that day anyway. Mr Straw has never let the email attachment go & continues to blame me for losing it, claiming I am a liar & suggesting to my boss that he fire me. His attitude & behavior toward me when we finally did get to court last week was completely unprofessional & my coworker, who knew nothing of my previous exchanges with Mr Straw, said he'd never seen an attorney try to intimidate their own client before & that he couldn't believe the way he was acting toward me. He also refused to look at my very detailed paperwork which would have explained why he thought my numbers were off. He instead rolled his eyes at me & said 'are you kidding me' right in front of the judge & the defendant. I was just glad to have the case finally over with & judgment in our favor & move on without ever using his services again. Then over the weekend, someone sent me a screenshot of Mr Straw replying to someone else's review on his page, claiming it was me. It was not my review & I had nothing to do with it. I emailed him & asked him to remove the comment that was directed at me, in which he accuses me at least 3 times of being a liar, on a review that I didn't post. He responded in 3 separate emails, still saying I was lying, calling me foolish & more unprofessional behavior. So I am posting this fair warning to future clients: 1. Be absolutely sure he reads everything you send him & understands why you're asking for what you're asking for & why (if you question it later, he'll make it seem like you're the stupid one for asking questions). 2. If he sends you an email, make sure there's an attachment if there seems like there should be & if not, ask for one. 3. Look up the court dates online yourself so you'll know when to appear (he won't contact you to remind you). 4. Handle the case yourself if you can without hiring Mr Straw.
