I took my wedding dress to Fab Alterations to be altered. I paid $*** up front. I picked up my dress on December 1, 2021. When I tried on the dress the dress was too short, the bodice was not fitted to me, the panel that was added to the lace of the bodice of my dress did not prevent the lace from being transparent as we had discussed, bra cups were not fitted to me but placed on top of the bra cups that already existed in the dress, a bustle was added with only 3 buttons which could not hold the weight of the train. I told the owner of the store that I was not happy with the dress. The owner of the store said the dress was beautiful and he did everything I asked. I tried to explain what I was not happy about and was told this was the dress and this is how the dress is made to look. I reluctantly took the dress and paid my balance not knowing what else to do. then contacted the store where I bought my dress. I showed the owner of the store my dress and she told me that Fab Alterations did a terrible alteration job and that she could not believe the amount they charged for such shoddy work. She then squeezed me in with their seamstress who had to reconstruct my dress. I also had to pay this seamstress for the work she did. She had to add several inches in length to my dress which required removing the lace trim and hand sewing the lace back on. She fitted the dress to my body, shortened the straps, removed the bra cups and the panel Fab Alterations added and then added both back to the dress so that they complimented me and the dress and added a bustle with 11 points to support my train. I have contacted the owner of Fab Alterations to seek a refund several times. The work they did on my dress was shoddy to say the least and outrageously expensive. The amount of stress, anxiety, tears and money this company caused me 3 weeks before my wedding is completely unprofessional. The company has refused to offer any kind of compensation.
