Poor concrete build, patio leaning toward the house which lead to a leak, concrete open in the bottom and wasn’t done right. The company wouldn’t accept the issue as their fault, but in fact it is. after our house was inspected, everybody told us to reach out to the company that built our patio. The concrete cracked in less the a year. We asked them to fill out the holes under the concrete and raise it where it is touching the house that way to push the rain away from the house. They refused, and then They said they’ll send some dirt, which they never did, we reached out to them every week, and they always seem busy!

      Business response

      12/08/2021

Mr. ******* called from the business indicated that he has been corresponding with the consumer in regards to the issue. He was working with his scheduling and crew to get it scheduled for the dirt to be delivered and taken care of by Friday, December 3, 2021. Mr. ******* was informed by the consumer that if he couldn't have the work done by Thursday, December 2, 2021 that they would be having another company come out to take care of the issue. No dirt was delivered because of the information about another company coming out if we didn't meet their deadline.

Per contract: start 6/30/21; finish 7/30/21. Construction began 2 weeks ahead of schedule in June 2021. It is now 10/24/21; despite multiple requests, they will not provide me with a completion date. When we met with the owner, Richard S***** on 1/16/21, signed the contract with money down, he told us we were the 3rd on this year’s schedule. Installments: $***; $***; $*****; (Final $*** – not yet paid). We paid an additional $8k to add a saltwater filtration system and cozy cove bump out. I understand supply chain issues because of COVID; however, there has been no significant weather or project changes that should have resulted in the delays, but they mentioned they were still finishing jobs from the 2020. They took measurements for the liner mid-July and then contacted us mid-August to confirm the pattern. A month lost having nothing to do with the supply chain despite the owner’s claims. The workers finished prepping the area to lay concrete on 7/23/21. They returned 4 weeks later, on 9/29/21, to pour the concrete. There are numerous issues with the completed work. The company laid stamped concrete on a day it rained, so there are pockmarks made from the raindrops all over the concrete. You can see where the rain fell between the boards on the concrete laid under our deck. The concrete was laid on 9/29/21 and has sat for 4 weeks without being sealed. AAA Pools has not taken action to remedy the concrete issue for weeks. On 10/14/21, the company installed the liner. By Saturday, 10/16/21, the water was dropped due to a leak. There is no ownership of responsibility. We hope BBB can help us. We want the pool Mr. S***** promised us and took our money to build. Richard and his company operate, demonstrating a total lack of concern, no accountability. We feels left powerless, and they have our money. We want the job finished and issues fixed right, not sloppy fixes.

      Business response

The job is done in stages to get it completed correctly. We poured the concrete and it rained out of no where. There was no rain scheduled for that day, so this was out of our control. We have been actively working to get the issue resolved between other jobs we have scheduled as well as the weather. We have been and will continue to be actively communicating with the consumer.

      Customer response

      12/09/2021

AAA’s response does not sufficiently address the entire complaint. The response from AAA Pools said, "work is done in stages." However, they did not work for nine weeks from 7/23/2021 to 9/29/2021, and there was no communication from them. There were no communicated responses to our complaint about the muddy water filling up the deep end of the pool which presented safety and health hazards and became infested with frogs. AAA did not even respond to that communication. Someone just showed up, drained it, and left. It was then still a few weeks until work started again.

The contract stated that the project would be completed by the end of July. AAA has sealed the concrete now but has not addressed the issue of the major cracks in the cement that was poured so recently.  The project lead still does not communicate. I agree that the office manager's communication has improved over the past month. However, when I have questions specific about the project work, issues and timelines, the office manager’s response is telling me I need to speak with the project manager.

I made several attempts last week in writing to for the project lead to address questions because in the past he has not responded to voice messages.  I included both the office manager and project lead on communications per the office manager’s direction, to ensure a response. The office manager said he even asked the project lead to call us. I am aware the project lead has been on our property in the past week, yet we have yet to get a response from him. The project lead has not responded to issues we have brought up to discuss with the cement.  One crack runs from the outer edge of the pool deck to the other at the pool's edge, another crack runs across the base of the patio's bottom step to the patio pool deck.

Regarding the issue with the rain when concrete was poured, in conjunction with AAA response to my complaint that, "work is done in stages," this translates to AAA Pools saying they have been working on resolving the issue since 9/29/2021.  The combined amount of time they have put into working the problem is not at a level of time that it should be taking over two months.  AAA’s response to my complaint is consistent to all their communication with us.  They pick and choose what they want to address and skate right over everything else.

I would like that noted for anyone researching information on AAA Pools. I initially filed my complaint on 10/24/21. When I contacted the BBB on 11/16/21, they said AAA had yet to respond.  AAA Pools is just now finally responding, and here it is 12/8/21. As for their response, "the job is done in stages," this does not address the amount of time this project has run over and their lack of communication despite constant requests to please keep us informed on work and timelines and address questions.
