July 25, 2024 - ************ towed my vehicle, damaged it trying ***** into it. The owner refused to provide her insurance information. She said her driver says he did not go into the driver side of the vehicle. She sent me the pictures the driver took upon arrival and the damage is not on the vehicle, but upon pickup it was. She told me if I got an estimate she would help with some of the cost to fix it. I got the estimate and now she wont respond via text or call.

Wednesday 22, 2023 - My car and my fiance's car were towed from our apartment complex. We were charged $180 (plus tax) for each car. ** ****** stated cars under ****** lbs cannot be charged over $150. ********/******* further strict it to $135. Our cars are not combination vehicles so there should not be an additional charge. "No towing company owner, employee, agent or operator shall assess any storage/impound charge for the initial 24 hours of storage/impound" our cars were picked up within 30 minutes of them being brought to impound. There is an open towing case in RVA - I'll gladly add your name to the list for them to investigate.

      Hi *****,

Im sorry that you feel like you were overcharged regarding the towing of your vehicles, however I can assure you that you were not. According to the virginia code which I have attached and highlighted,

no hookup and initial towing fee of any passenger car shall exceed $150

      which is correct

      however it also states

For towing a vehicle between 7p and 8a OR on any Saturday/Sunday OR holiday an additional fee of no more than $30 per instance may be charged; however in no event shall more than two such fees be charged.

So this is how we arrived at the price of $180. Original $150 (+) one instance of $30 for it being towed between 7p or 8a.

Roughly two weeks ago, my car was towed due to an issue that was my fault associated with my complex. I went to the towing company and instantly before I took my car of the lot, my ignition and steering wheel were locked (which is connected and associated with your power steering). I have never had an issue with this for the YEARS I have had my car. The lady helped me, but also stated “this happens all the time when we tow cars”. Therefore, I thought that was fixed so I left. Instantly a week later, the same issue arrived causing me to miss work, get my car towed, and resulted in $****** in fixes ( powering steering inlet pipe & new ignition tumblr), which even my mechanic stated was the towing companies fault. My apartment complex forwarded my complaint to them and I put in one, but never heard anything. Janae refused to tell me how to spell her first name, in which I never asked for her last name. She stated they never received either of the complaints which makes no sense. I want my money back, this is completely unfair and downright there fault. She was rude and I was extremely nice and pleasant and even explained that I understand it is not directly her fault, and just wanted to know the right place to dispute it. She didn’t care whatsoever. I also asked to speak with “*****” (would not tell me the spelling) even thought everybody’s name is public information, she said she couldn’t. I feel like she didn’t care and she was very defensive and rude. I never got a tone or raised my voice with her at all. My mom and I want a resolution to this problem ASAP.

On March 9th, 2022 i went to *********** pizza on (*** * ********) st in Richmond, i parked my car at the 7/11 which is directly behind it. Approximately 5-7 mins later i receive my pizza with intent to go into the 7/11 for a beverage. As I’m walking out i see that my car is being towed. I then confront the man and ask why my car is being towed. He proceeded to tell me that the 7/11 parking is now considered private property which i understood. The tower has not hit the main road at this point and i asked is there a fee for taking my car off the truck? The tower tells me it’s $*** to remove my car off the handle. I then ask a police officer and as well researched that it was an outrageous price and now allowed in the city and was over the maximum and due to the fact he didn’t enter the main road he was supposed to release my car once i caught him.

This company has targeted our car specifically for several months to be towed. This company has lied to us stating that we will be placed on the "do not tow" list numerous of times after I have shared my financial struggle to them. We pay rent to the apartment complex they are hired by. The apartment complex is also receiving a cut from them to tow cars with no decal even if that car has a visitor ticket on the dash. Tonight specifically J & R Towing and Recovery towed our car stating that we were "illegally parked" in our apartment complex parking lot. I have seen numerous cars parked in that specific spot without being towed. This is unfair and once again targeted. The resolution that I am seeking is to have my car relinquished back to me at $0 cost to me and my family. We have neem hit so extremely hard my COVID and taking our transportation away would make us deeper in the whole. Please help.

On 10/25/21, J and R Towing towed my car from the apartment complex I live at. Even though the sticker showing I am a resident is clearly visible in my rear window, they said they towed it because the placard used to park in the carport was not visible. (I am registered to use a carport spot and have been parking there for three months with the same car.) In order to see this, they had to have gotten out of the tow truck and cased my vehicle. (I was parked head first.) In broad daylight, you can not tell when standing at the back window that the card is displayed. You can see from the photos the drag marks (even after rain) from where they dragged my car out. When I was able to get to the tow lot, the lady tried to charge me double what my complex told me they had negotiated as pay. I went to pay the $** and was told that I was only able to pay with cash. You can see the hand-written receipt I was given where it lists cards as a payment option. Also, they took my car through a toll road and my ex-pass account was charged (charge on 10/15 at 3:38 AM) I am seeking a repayment of the $** and the toll fee. I had to miss a day of pay and get transport to the lot, as well as an ATM fee because they would not take my card for payment.
