I am filing on behalf of my cousin ***** ******* who has beginning dementia. They charged her $2000 for a part & labor, didn’t fix problem on heat pump. Been 2 weeks they never came back, would not answer her calls. So she hired another company who are coming Monday. She has no written agreement, she’s asked for her money back, they refuse. They replaced one part, and replaced freon. She did pay already for the first visit. I called them yesterday and spoke with a employee. They said I could not speak with the owner. My cousin is on a fixed income, is a recent widow, limited mobility due to her legs and back, and bouts of dementia. Has one son in another state, never helps his mother. This owner is also her husband’s first cousin and a “Pastor” of a church. I asked the employee if they could give her money back since they didn’t fix the problem. He said no. The heat pump had slime, and they replaced the frein but did nothing about the slime! Then they decided, can’t be fixed, you need a new system. The other company has told her they will remove the part that was put in, and not charge her for that. I feel they have taken advantage of her because does a woman and a widow, and because she’s unable to make good decisions. Her younger sister lives close to her, and is trying to help her as much as she can. Neither of them are business oriented. Her sister is a widow also.
