We called the company for a estimate on our chimney. Their employee came out & quoted us $1150. We were in a time crunch. Our house was selling at the time and this cleaning was an HOA requirement. Their employee got on the phone to his office & was able to give us a date for cleaning. He obtained a deposit from us of $230 which was given by check. After careful thought by me I decided to check around for other companies that would clean the chimney sooner. After a couple of days I was able to get someone out right away before our closing date. I then called DMV Chimney to cancel them and ask for our refund back. They claimed they do not refund monies of deposit and its on their estimate. Here's the catch. We never received a written estimate by mail, their employee or by email. We spoke to their gal in the office Kelley who agreed and promised us we would be refunded. After several attempts and phone calls to Kelley, we still have not received our refund check. Although she is very sweet and keeps “promising” a check, none has ever come. So I am asking for your help. I have called my bank to ask if they can pull funds back for a cashed check but they said no. Needless to say I am beyond frustrated and angry that a company would operate such as DMV Chimney and not honor they’re promise to send our money back. Please help.
