The company as described below installed new siding on my home in April/May of 2022. Four holes were placed in my roof two in the front and two in the back to anchor the workers as they installed the siding. Unbeknownst to me the process damages the roof. I wasn't ware of that until my neighbor told me. The holes that were made in my roof were glued. The shingles weren't replaced. I contacted Care Contracting on Monday, August 1, 2022 because after it rains I can hear the sound of water dripping in my attic. The dripping starts out pretty loud and consistent while it rains. After the rain has stopped the sound slows down and eventually stops. I sent and email to Chris B********* and he responded that he will not come out to my house to determine what the problem is because he didn't install my roof. No, he didn't install my roof. But he put 4 holes in it and he put holes in the neighbors roof as well. However, he completely repaired her roof as well as installed new shingles. He didn't repair my roof. The holes were filled with glue and the shingles weren't replaced. I was his customer. I am requesting that he come out and inspect his work to ensure that the siding is sealed properly around the roof. I had a roofing contractor tell me that when the siding was removed and the flashing not placed around the roof properly on the new installation the roof will leak. To: <[email protected]>

      To whom it may concern:

Care Contracting installed new vinyl siding on April 2nd for ****************************  The complaint that we damaged her roof is absolutely preposterous.  The documents that were mailed by the BBB include email correspondence directly between *************************** and myself.  There is a major issue with the documented correspondence.  The majority of the emails that I had sent to ******* that provide detailed information, as well as photos, are not included.  It is clear that this was done to fit her agenda; making us look at fault.  I have attached all the emails in one document, along with the photos, so all correspondence can be reviewed.  We were more than willing to provide resolution for any potential issues and did come back to her home three times on April 4th, May 5th, and May 23rd.  What we discovered when performing the service calls is that there were no issues with her roof caused by our siding installation.  **************** claims that Care Contracting damaged her roof by putting holes into it when securing the pump jacks for her siding installation.  The use of pump jacks and securing them to the roof is a completely standard part of the siding installation process.  As always, we followed best practices to ensure that where the pump jacks were secured to her roof, that we sealed them properly after completion of her siding installation.  Photos have been provided of the pump jacks during the installation on April 2nd.  I have also provided photos that were taken on April 4th that clearly reflect that her roof was in perfect condition after our installation.  However, we did point out to **************** that when her roof was replaced by another contractor, apparently within the year, they removed an old satellite dish but failed to remove the four rusted out screws used to mount the satellite.  Our installer pointed the screws to ****************, and she had no knowledge of them.  A photo has been provided for review.  I have urged her to contact her roofing contractor if she has concerns about her roof, but she continues to refuse to.

It's important to note, the first time **************** complained to our company and was very quick to let us know she would take us to small claims court (see email) was with regard to her gutters.  We never touched her gutters during the siding install, nor would we have any reason to.   According to her the gutter on the back of her home started to leak after we performed her siding installation.  As a courtesy, we not only checked her gutters, but installed splash guards at the ends of the gutters (see photos) to ensure overspill would not occur during heavier rain.  Her gutters were also installed with spikes, so added hidden hangers as well as sealed all end caps.  This was all done free of charge.  Again, we were not contracted to install her gutters, and none of this had anything do with the siding installation.

The most recent issue **************** is now claiming is that she hears a dripping sound.  We are unable to diagnose a dripping sound.  There are no signs of leaking.  Based on years of combined industry knowledge between myself, siding director, and operations director, we have come to the conclusion the sound **************** is likely hearing is water dripping into the gutter.  Her bedroom is right next to the gutter, and when the water hits the gutter you can hear it.

This is literally the first complaint Care Contracting has ever had on any platform.  Our track record and reviews speak for themselves.  We have nothing but extremely positive reviews on ******* *********, ***********, and ********.  All of this can easily be fact checked by simply ******** Care Contracting - Leesburg, VA.

If anything further is needed on my end please let me know.  Thank you.

      Respectfully,

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: Care Contracting has placed holes in my roof that is a fact. Also,  the siding  needs to be checked for leaks. I have contacted an expert in installing siding. An independent company that said if the siding has been incorrectly installed where the siding meets the roof area that I would hear a dripping sound. Therefore, I am requesting that Care Contracting come to my home to inspect the siding that surrounds the townhouse in the back to ensure that it has been correctly installed and there are no gaps where water is getting behind the siding. Care Contracting emailed me and told me that they would come out and check the siding. I haven't heard from Care Contracting because I reached out to the BBB for assistance. I gave care contracting 8 thousand dollars to install siding at my home. I didn't have to. **** ensured me when he took my money that the job would be done correctly. As it turns out Care Contracting admitted to and repaired the damage to my neighbors roof.  My neighbors name is
**************; ***** and her telephone number is ************. Care Contracting damaged her roof when they installed the siding on my home. Care Contacting  replaced several shingles and repaired the holes in the neighbors roof at **************************************** in Ashburn, VA. 20147.  I also had holes in my roof. My shingles weren't replaced. Care contacting didn't treat me the way that they treated my neighbor and I gave them 8 thousand dollars of my hard earned money.  The siding came with a warranty for that I am sure. Therefore, please don't close this case. Care Contracting needs to come out to my home and at the very least ensure that the siding is secure as well as the holes that were patched on my roof.  It was only after Care Contracting installed my siding that I began to hear this dripping sound.  I believe that my request is fair as a consumer.

Thanks for your assistance. I appreciate your time and consideration.

As a follow up to ******************** complaint,  I have not received any report with regard to an independent siding contractor that was hired to check our work.  This would also be the first time in nine years of being in business that we have ever had another contractor or inspector state that we did not follow best siding installation practices on a project.  It would be my pleasure to meet this independent contractor that **************** claims she hired.  I will also bring my siding director with me, as he runs our crew and was on site all day during the installation.  Our siding director also revisited her home two additional times since installation and provided me with all of the photos I provided in my initial response that clearly show that this claim could not be more false.  There was no damage to her roof or her neighbor's roof, nor was there any admission of damage to her neighbor's like **************** claims.  I would also like to point out that there is still no mention from **************** that the contractor she hired to replace her roof has yet to come out to inspect their work, even after our siding director pointed out to her that they left old rusty bolts from a satellite dish in her roof.  Again, our work has been inspected three times, and we have even gone above and beyond by making repairs to work we were not responsible for such as the gutters on the home to avoid spill over.  If **************** would like to call our office to schedule a time for us to meet with this independent siding contractor we will be there.  It is our hope to have this matter closed out, so we can amicably go our separate ways.
