All these ‘techs’ do is try to sell customers new product. Each tech (who was first sent by American Home Shield) wanted to do was sell me unneeded & expensive products! I had them back to service my furnace because they won’t leave without out selling you something. They use scare tactics on old people. I was told my condo was going to flood because my five year old $2000 water heater was faulty. I said I had insurance & was asked how much is your deductible? On another occasion, a ‘tech’ asked if I had good credit because I needed a new furnace. I didn’t. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. Never again.Review from Manzoor B

On September 27th, 2023, American Home Shield sent United Air Temp to my house for some services. The technician provided wrong diagnosis about a bath tub faucet, stating that it was due to high water pressure instead of normal wear and tear. Which blocked the benefit that I was going to get from AHS. Also, I have a high end kitchen faucet which was leaking and I opted for a cash out option. United Air Temp did not provide the details to AHS. I have called multiple times to United Air Temp and each time they said that somebody will call me. After three weeks they provided the details to AHS for cash out option, which is below average for a standard kitchen faucet. When I asked AHS how did they come up with that amount, they said that United Air Temp provided that amount. It's been really frustrating dealing with United Air Temp for the last several weeks. I would not do business with them ever.Review from Verlinda H

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! United Air Temp was contracted through my home warranty company AHS for my AC unit. My original issue was that the unit was not cooling. They showed up on time for the appointment and that's the only reason I would give them 1 star. They added coolant and it worked for a couple days then went out again. Came back and determined it was a leak in the line but they had to run a test to determine where. Completed the job and a couple days later I realized my carpet is completely SOAKED from the AC leaking. Called the tech and he said I had to do a recall through AHS in order for him to return to fix the leak. This was on a Friday night the weekend of Labor day during a heat wave of 95+ degree weather. He showed up the next week with a wet vac and fixed the leak and I asked him what about my carpet which at this point I wouldn't be surprised if mold had started to accumulate. He told me to contact headquarters which I did and was told they were not at fault. How is it not your fault if the unit was NOT leaking before your "repairs"? I've called several times and insisted to speak to a manager and they have yet to return my calls. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.Review from Suresh H

I had a disappointing experience with United Temp, which was dispatched to my home by American Home Shield (AHS) for a water heater repair covered under warranty. Initially, they replaced the thermostat, and the water heater seemed to work for only half a day. Subsequently, when it ceased functioning, I contacted AHS again, and they sent United for a follow-up visit. During this visit, the technician confirmed that the water heater needed to be replaced and provided an estimate of $1,600 as an out-of-pocket expense if I chose to have them perform the replacement. However, when I asked for other options , United Air Temp's plumbing manager, James Istr, arrived and presented me with vastly different estimates ranging from $4,000 to $8,000. I found this inconsistency troubling. Consequently, I requested AHS to provide a cash-out option, allowing me to select my own professional for the replacement. AHS eventually offered a $330 cash-out option, which they claimed was determined by United Temp, encompassing both labor and replacement costs. This situation appears perplexing, as it suggests a lack of transparency and potentially collusion between AHS and United Temp to the detriment of customers. I strongly caution against utilizing this company's services, as it raises concerns of unethical practices and profit-seeking behavior while working in conjunction with a warranty company. My experience felt akin to dealing with untrustworthy salespeople who prioritize their own gains over customer satisfaction.Review from Maurice D

Trash company unscrupulous. Jobbed me for a $175 service i didn't need. Had to use them through American Home Shield. The tech spent 4-5 hours at my house and some how missed that we had a refrigerant leak. I found that out after seeking 3 other opinions because I felt they were just trying to sell me. The other companies took pictures showed me the other issues that it was more than the part they diagnosed. This dude used the disclaimer that this part might not fix it, well tell the warranty company that. I wouldn't trust this company at all!!Review from Michael H

The most horrible experience I've ever had with an HVAC company. It took them over a month abd a half as of date, to resolve my AC issue. Since then, they've visited my property more than six times without resolve up until today. Mind you, its been extremely hot and several heatwaves which temps reached up to 95 to 100 degrees throughout the month of June 2023 and earlier this month of August 2023. There were several excuses from the technician as to why he couldn't get the system to work properly. Unbeknownst to me initially, the REAL issue was, the technician installed the compressor incorrectly and didn't have the skillsets to do a proper repair, which is dangerous, risky, and a liability!! In addition to that, there were too many problems and complaints to even mention during this whole month and a half experience, from the lack of professionalism from their management team, to a shortage of skilled HVAC techs, to being overly priced for a service or repair that you have to wait over a month for. I can't trust their service for any future upgrades or projects and I wont ever use this vendor again. And their managers and supervisors are always "unavailable". They also have not returned any of my calls and possessed a very lackluster attitude throughout this situation, so apparently they dont care and lack any accountability for this horrible experience. Hiring this vendor for HVAC services may pose a major risk to your home and/or health. I will never recommend this HVAC company to anyone or my worst enemy.Review from Javaid K

Been to my home 4 times over the last month to repair my ac unit. Each time the technician found a different issue with the unit. The last time i was told that it needed a new motor. Brought a new motor and then claimed the “New” motor was damaged and it’s gonna take another week to get it fixed. I was referred to them by American Home Shield and they were completely useless to any of my complaints. Do not use this company by any meansReview from Deanna F

I so terribly dissatisfied with American Home Shield. I should not be allowed to give not even a 1 star. This company has terrible customer service. They select the worst counteractors for you to work with that are inexperienced and will not complete the job. I placed my service request on 5/24/23 for my AC unit, as of today in the middle of the summer we are still without air. The company they choose was United Air Temp of Marietta, GA, terrible, terrible, terrible. UAT sent the most incompetent technicians of all time. The first technician came and installed a compressor incorrectly, which I was told by the second contractor (In Air) left my unit overheating, the coil is now burned out and to top it off the unit is still not cooling. United Air temp came to my property 6 times due to our unit not cooling, and now has left me with having to replace my entire unit. Please beware of this company they will leave you with more damage than what you started with.Review from Atosha B

STAY AWAY FROM WORST COMPANY AROUND! We placed service order with American Home Shield they have sent 2 different technicians out to report the same exact thing for and AC repair. The stated it will take 7-10 days to order part. I explained I have a sick asthmatic kid in house temperature will be in the 90s. Nothing they were willing to expedite unless we wanted to purchase the unit out right for $4000 instead of using warranty and they can fix same day. This is truly a scam company working along with American Home Shield. The repair guy finally comes back with part week later on 7/3/23, Monday, and it starts to rain so now he leaves without finishing. Justin C. tells us he will come back at end of week to finish. Like this will be almost 3 weeks to get repaired. I called the customer service number and took and hour trying to explain why should have the next appointment as he was giving me the same run a round when the repair guy, Justin left the job unfinished, I should be moved to top of list, but not. I will be worked in most likely at the end of the day. I now have to take off work to be home again all day waiting. This is bad business and shame on American Home Shield ripping consumers off monthly premiums and no good servicing companies.
