      So to start I have international forestry truck 2013 with a 4.6 maxxforce diesel with some issues call ***** ********** ********* said they could fix it, had it for 2 weeks call me back and said they don't have proper software on this model truck. So, they said they wouldn't charge me and would pay to tow to another mechanic.so they did everything they said. Very satisfied with ***** **********. Call Garbee truck and trailer they said they had proper soft wear bring it to me.tow company towed it to them the mechanic calls me a week after having it and said trying to find the problem need couple more days, I said no problem. THEN another week went by and received all call week later saying come get the truck we can't fix it lots of wiring issues /computer and the truck was basic junk get rid of it. They charge me$ 929.27. nothing was fix but a speed sensor$181.80. which i agreed to pay. I call her and ask why charging me for 5,5 labor if you didn't have proper software to fix, she said that what they do so i was stuck with that bill and a tow bill that she wouldn't help with, took it too ******* ******** and they put it on proper software had it fixed in no time for only $250.00 .the mechanic at ******* ******** said if they did have to spend 5.5 hr. on it and charge me for mis diagnosing the problem. The problem I have is they knew they couldn't fix it and still charge me for not fixing it.would like a refund for 5.5 hr. and towing it to another shop to be properly repaired $400.00

      When this truck came to our shop the complaint was stuck in idle mode. We scanned the truck with the International program. The codes referenced were mass air flow out of calibration, transmission output shaft speed voltage above normal or shorted to high source, & program memory special instruments. We replaced 2 corroded fuses on firewall & transmission speed sensor. Checked with Allison program & sensor is working. Performed recalibration on air mass flow, cleared codes, as soon as you cut truck off/on the air flow & ecm codes come back. Checked all fuses in dash to make sure problem was in computer & not power problem. All of this takes time. I don't know anyone that would go directly to the ecm & then find out it was a bad fuse or connection. Unfortunately International software program we have is not allowed to change the ecm programming. Only the dealer can do that.
