On May 12, 2021 I contracted with Mr. Pave to provide "Tar and gravel" paving of my existing driveway, create and pave an additional parking space along the front of the house, and grade and pave the area in front of my garage. I met with Tim Dantas, the owner of Mr. Pave, and he measured and provided a quote for the work. During the meeting, he assured me that Mr. Pave would stand behind their work quality. The team began work on May 19, 2021, and quickly graded and paved the driveway, by spraying tar and placing a layer of gravel, rolling it out, and repeating the process for a second layer, as described during our conversation. I paid the $8,750 invoice promptly on May 21, 2021. By late June it was apparent that something was wrong. Weed growth and a loose surface were the main reasons for paving the driveway, and I was assured by Tim that these would be satisfactory, although I may see some growth along the edges. I met with Tim in July and he agreed to send a crew to spray the weeds and resurface the areas that had weed growth. Nobody showed up and I have never heard from him again. Now it is 7 months later and the gravel is loose across the entire surface. Rain has washed the new gravel away down to the original surface. Piles of gravel sit at the end of the driveway and tires spin when exiting. Loose gravel shows footprints from people and pets. Any semblance of tar binding the gravel together is gone. I went from having a near-asphalt hard surface to a loose gravel, uneven driveway from one end to the other. This is not a safe driveway to drive my motorcycle on. I have been quoted $8,000 to fix it by other reputable companies in the area. Essentially they will have to remove the loose gravel and re-do the work that I have already paid for.

Mr. ******** was presented with a couple of quotes when we originally met. One was to remove all the existing cracked and severely damaged driveway which he didn’t want to do because he wanted to rep cost low. It was explained to him resurfacing with tar and gravel did not guarantee all the weed and grass that was growing through the old surface from sprouting. I also explained to him that we would use a vegetation killer and burning old weeds but that also did not guarantee complete removal and the only thing that would guarantee is complete removal and getting under all the roots. He declined due to cost. I also told him that it would be constant Maintenance as it is everything else in your home, spraying the edges for grass creeping, edging etc. I did go back and respray everything for them myself. when Mr ******** told me he drives his motorcycle on it i again said that he should consider asphalt since the small gravel will always be popping out throughout the life of the pavement. Once again he declined due to the cost of going with asphalt.
