Contract ran out, I told the worker contract had run out. They send a contract for there services. I threw contract away. Person came sprayed, again. Did not give permission. Contract was dead, over with. They are wanting me to pay for a service, that I didn't give permission for or want. I have in a struggle with money. Now there threatening to give to a bill collector. no contract no services They have my house key, l want backBusiness response

As of 11/27/23, Dodson has left three voicemails from Mr. ****** with no returned call. Mr. ****** was a customer with a recurring service who had paid for one year of service in advance. This type of agreement auto renews, whereas Mr. ****** seems to believe the service was to be canceled after the first year. Mr. ****** contacted our office through an online portal on November 17th, we called Mr. ****** at that time with no return call.In the interest of customer service, Dodson has removed the most recent charge and canceled the account.Initial Complaint

I had outside vents installed by Dodson Bros $1140.00 on August 16, 2023; I overpaid them by $285.00. The month of September and October 2023 I spoke with ******** and ******, Dodson Bros in *********, Va. Week after week each told me they would refund my money both lied. My last conversation with ****** on 10/20/23 she laughed and again said they will send me my money. This is my money I owe them nothing, yet they lie and refuse to reimburse me. This situation to ****** is hilarious however, I'm angry and want to be reimbursed.Business response

The check arrived and we recognized the monies were not owed. The check was not deposited but was returned to Ms. ******. Ms. ****** paid through a third-party bill payer. When Ms. ****** attempted to get her money back from her bank, she was told she had to wait 90 days for a refund. Ms. ****** felt like Dodson was holding her money, but that was not the case. In an attempt to assist Ms. ******, Dodson's credit manager contacted the bill-payer service on behalf of Ms. ****** and spent 30 minutes on the phone to learn that there was no flexibility in the 90-day policy. Dodson asked Ms. ****** to return the check to our credit department, at which time, Dodson would deposit the check and issue her a refund through Dodson to prevent her waiting the full 90-days for a bank refund. The check was received by Dodson on the nineteenth of October and a refund was issued on October 20th. Our credit manager called to let her know the check had been mailed, Ms. ****** was very angry about the situation and terminated the call.Dodson believes this is an unfortunate situation. We regret that it ever happened, but the delay of a refund lied within the relationship she has with her bill payer account and not Dodson. Dodson believes we were a solution to Ms. ******** problem.Customer response

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. They said they didn't owe me money and they did due to an over payment. Yes, I did pay them through a third party but I paid it through my checking account. My bank did not tell me I had to wait to recieve my refund.They did not have to contact the bill payer for me. They recieved my payment electronically on August 16. The did send me a refund check. It took them a few months but I did recieve it. Regards, **** ******Initial Complaint

I called Dotson to have termite police transfered to me since I am the new owner of the property. The rep from the company came out and looked at past termite damage, assuring me the problem was taken care of. He then came out the next week for no announced reason, looked at the same place, and again assured me that everything was great. He then had me fill out a pdf copy of a contract that he sent me on his phone. Since then he has not returned my calls and I am still not on the policy for the home. No one can answer any questions and puts me off when I call. I just need some answers.Business response

I have had an annual contract with Dodson now for several years at my apartment building, *** ****** **** *************** ** *****. I have not been satisfied with their service for the last 18 months. ******* was the first technician that I complained to that there were a multitude of spiders seen around the property and abundant spider webs and eggs concerning the Tenants and myself. She assured me that she would rid the property of both the spiders and therefore the spider webs and the eggs. That assurance has not ever been completed. There have been other insect infestations regarding roaches etc. I did not renew or authorize continued service with Dodson after my last annual contract expired. Dodson took it upon itself to continue the service without my authorization. I am requesting that Dodson not only revoke the $62.00 “aged account balance”, but also refund the last annual service fee of $347.70 that I paid for unsatisfactory services.Business response
