Services NOT rendered!! Old Forest Rd Transmissions and Auto Repair promised to repair/rebuild the transmission of my 2001 Chevrolet Silverado Truck in March of this year 2024. I was offered a warranty in case anything were to go wrong with the transmission in a 2 year timeframe. In April of this year 2024 I had to take my truck back to this business to work on my transmission again because it kept slipping and making a noise I have never heard of in my nearly 50 years of owning vehicles. Because I have the warranty, the service was supposed to be free of charge. In May of this year 2024 I had to take my truck back a third time as the transmission still was not working right. The strange noise was still there and the transmission completely failed on me while I was driving. This third time I have checked on the status of my vehicle and it hasn't been looked at or worked on in almost 3 weeks. I only have one vehicle for travel (as most people do) for daily activities such as work. I have had to rely on family, friends, and rental vehicles to get me to and from the places I need to go. I have called multiple times to see if someone has at least looked over my transmission to see if there is anything cosmetically wrong and I have heard nothing in response. I have given this business over $2,300.00 for my transmission to still be broken and for the owner to dodge my calls when I have tried calling to inquire about my truck this week. I have recently heard the mechanics do not even have a license to work on transmissions and have not been properly trained in the matter. If it were up to me, this business would be shut down and taken off all media platforms and search engines. The owner is a fraud and so are the workers.Initial Complaint

I had my car towed into transmission service. James said it needed a rebuild. He gave a one year warranty and ***** informed me my transmission is still in need of rebuild two months later. I think james has ripped me off and I want it made right.Initial Complaint

James runs a transmission shop and a body shop next door. I brought my sons truck in for a paint job and after about 3 months they said it was ready. Price was $4650 bucks so picked the truck up and didn’t like the job at all. Just lots of spots need repainted. Fog light wiring harness was missing, antenna was missing which he gave me a credit for. Rear tailgate handle was missing and was supposed to have been painted black, James said he would buy one and mail it but its been about 3 weeks and nothing from him or response from texts. This is by far the worse paint job. Im going to take the truck to another shop and get an estimate to fix it and take James to court. Unless he makes this right.Initial Complaint

Called this place of business on July 25,2023 to work on my 2000 S-10 transmission was going bad, Mr. ***** stated he could fix my problem at around $ 1750.50. He called back within a week stating he had fired my truck. Went to pickup and he wrote me a receipt one year warranty, I left business to take home made it about 2 miles from home, the truck would not hardly move. I called Mr. ***** and told him my truck would not move,looked at some things, couldn't fix, carried back to him on08/07/23 the truck is still there not fixed and keep getting reason why it's not been fixed, I have records where I have called and went by his shop over 2 months, and thing I can do about this matter, call or email meBusiness response

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Good Evening, Yes, this concerning work that was performed on my S-10 pickup truck Old forest road transmission or Transmaster transmission. I picked my truck on around October 13, 2023, drove the truck home a code for transmission came on for transmission for slipping. I had to carry to another garage to do some work on front end they checked codes found that the transmission was not shifting, they could not work on these items. I carried to another garage this mechanic said he would check. I talked to this mechanic today he advised me that I only had to gears that was working which was second and third, did not have first or fourth gear, therefore the transmission had to completly redone. I have spent close to $2000.00 trying to get fixed, I have 2 guaranties stating work was guaranteed , Of course known I have got to spend another price to get fixed. There was bolts left on mounts, transmission and other areas. Has I stated before I have logs on all this supposes work that performed, dates times, conversations. I would like to get my money back if not go to court to receive back for the the work that not been performed**** *****Business response

I rebuilt the transmission the first time. He did have a problem and brought it back. We drove it together after that and it was fine. The complaint was the first I heard about any additional issues, he just needed to contact me. I would like to see the detailed repairs done by the other shop.Customer response

This is my list from the work Mr. ***** gave me for the work he did, as anyone can see there is no parts list for anything, l know for a fact that parts where not put in the work, because I seen 2 wiring harness that was broke, I call them the clutch packs was old parts never checked, the pump had parts broke in it, they've have a bunch of bands that goes in Transmission, supposed to be replaced, old parts where put back in instead of new ones, pan had no gasket on it just sealant , gasket on the valve body just fell apart, the only part that I could see was a solenoid, as I stated earlier bolts had to be bought for the transmission that mounts to motor, bolts for cross member was left out, this just something of the things the mechanic called me to come to his shop and show me, I can't tell what all that goes in on a rebuild, I am not a transmission person, I know for a fact that Mr. ***** just took my money and I received nothing in return.
