I am having trouble reaching the company. Despite multiple attempts to contact them, I managed to speak with a Harris Loftus employee who confirmed my identity. However, as soon as I started asking questions about my account, the call abruptly ended without any explanation. This pattern repeated when I tried again, resulting in the same frustrating disconnection. I left detailed messages on Harris Loftus' voicemail, requesting a callback from a representative, but received no response. Unfortunately, I recently received a notice of garnishment, which raised my concern further. Starting from 8:30 am, I made several more attempts to reach Harris Loftus, but the disconnection problem persisted. On my seventh try, desperate for answers regarding the notice, I finally managed to reach someone. A Harris Loftus representative agreed to settle the account, and I promptly paid the outstanding balance over the phone. The amount has already been debited from my account. However, I am still unsure if the notice of garnishment sent to my employer will be rescinded. Considering the ongoing issue of Harris Loftus disconnecting calls from customers, I am now resorting to writing this message on the Better Bureau's website, seeking a resolution to my problem.

      Thank you for the response.

Here is our response to the complaint by **************:

Since it appears this response may be made public, I will not be able to address any specifics of the underlying legal issue due to federal law.  However, I acknowledge the fact that two phone calls between ************** and my office on May 11, 2023 (one at approximately 8:39 am and one at approximately 8:44 am) were cut off due to issues with our phone system.  We did not hang up on her or intentionally disconnect the calls.   A third call was successfully made and completed at approximately 8:59 am and the matter was resolved and settled.  Once the matter was settled, we filed the proper paperwork with the appropriate state agency and the matter is closed.  I invite ************** to contact me directly at the number below if she is still experiencing issues.

      Thank you.

      Dear Dispute Resolution Team:

I am writing in response to the above referenced complaint because you believe it requires a response from your company.

The complaining party in this case has been in touch with my office and he/she was informed  by my office that 1) yes, we used to work for *************************** dba *** ***************; 2) according to the Courts Case Information Website, there were several cases brought by ******** against ********* *****; 3) and this firm represented ******** in those matters.  This information is a matter of public record.

After the last case, the property was sold at some point and we no longer represent ******** in any of their matters. This firm was not a part of the sales agreement and I do not know the status of what happened to any outstanding judgments or debts owed to or owed by ********.

I do not have ********* ***** permission to discuss the nature of those cases nor do I have permission from ******** to discuss or settle any outstanding matters.   I am not in contact with anyone from ********.  ******** never assigned any cases to my firm to collect and I have no information on what ********* ***** paid or may still owe to ******** if anything.

********* ***** contacted my office and he was informed we no longer represent ******** and cannot help him resolve any issues he may have with ******** since we have no authority to act on their behalf.

There is a remedy available to ********* ***** under the Code of ******** that permits a debtor to satisfy a judgment owed a creditor when the creditor cannot be located and the judgment will be marked as paid at the end of that process assuming that is what ********* ***** is looking to do. The ******** Code is available at law.lis.********.gov but is apparently down now due to a cyber attack.  I would provide the code section in this response but I have been unable to access the lis.code for the past three days and this response is due today.

If you have questions please let me know.  I do non consent to this response being made public by the BBB but it may be shared with ********* *****.

      Thank you.
