      This place is horrible I will not recommend this place to anyone. They mistreat the residents. They dont give them showers they disrespect the patients . This is a very unskilled facility that needs to be shut down .

      Sunrise Senior Living of Orchard Park, in Colorado was a disaster because they really don’t handle care well for anyone with needs above independent assisted living. There would be days cloths not changed, leaving clothes for a person in wheelchair to put away themselves. Not always having oxygen with a person when they left their room. Not moving things close so a person can reach in a wheelchair. On the flip side they did have incredible activity and nursing staff. But when basic needs are not met, kind of hard to get the benefit. Stay clear

      The facility in Severna Park: horrible. My parents have been forced into this place by my sister almost 2 years ago. We have had an issue with their ringer volume being turned off. I have pleaded with them as well as my "Super Shady and manipulative little sister" to simply super glue the ringer volume so it cant be turned off. When I call Sunrise they just hang up on me no or they tell me they will go che k, but they dont . My parents have been isolated from their entire family minus my shady sister who lives in Baltimore. They get no calls. I cant imagine how lonely they are, but Sunrise could give a shit less as long as they get that $ which my sister(who gained POA in a very un ethical way) is all to comfortable treating our parents like personal property. Sunrise has been made aware of all of this many times and refuse to do anything about it. Havent been able to wish them happy birthday or any holiday for almost 2 years now. I will post as much negative reviews for Sunrise until they take some action in ensuring my parents can receive PHONE CALLS! How difficult is this?? WTF Sunrise. If i could have not been forced to put at least 1 star on this review they would get a 0. Hope no one sends their loved one to this NIGHTMARE. For a place that is supposed to "Assist" seniors you would think providing a phone that someone can't turn the ringer volume off (this has been a practice my sister excells at and has been doing to them now for almost 3 years)and with big number buttons would be standard but no, not here. The few times I was able to get through to my parents last year they were begging to leave this place, but my sister shut that down. Their memory loss is being used against them. It's the most inhumane and degrading treatment of human beings I think I have ever witnessed.

      Sunrise Assisted Living in Parma OH. Our loved one had the most amazing care. Spiritually, physically.. all around holistically. However when it comes to who handles finances.. DEBBIE SHOULD NOT HAVE HER JOB. You do NOT tell a grieving family who's been CHASING them for WEEKS for a refund that their call "isn't appreciated". NEITHER IS TREATING PEOPLE DISRESPECTFULLY. When you are in a position to help people yet you chose to degrade them, cut them off while talking, speak with an attitude and blame other staff and specifically use names (which I'm POSITIVE isn't appreciated).. that's EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. You know how to collect your money and anything after the 1st includes a fee. How about you pay back the family the over 8k payment for August you still have yet the resident passed in JULY. Would I recommend this facility? Yes in Memory Care. Would I recommend Debbie being in the position she is? ABSOLUTELY NOT! You should be ashamed of yourself. I will make it my duty to spread the word. THAT'S the lasting impression she gave us.

      Sunrise Senior Living of Shelby is horribly managed, negligent in care, and certainly more concerned with money than their residents. I want to preface with my praise for the front line workers that are grossly overworked, underpaid, and underappreciated by management. The entire facility is understaffed for about a year, as told to me directly, multiple times, by every staff person AND managers Karen and Mark. Yet, they still advertise on the website and phone announcements that they want new residents. They still host tours for new residents while they are not able to keep up with the care that they are already paid to provide to current residents. They claim to provide homemade gourmet meals and instead regularly serve hotdogs, pizza, and other prepackaged foods. The laundry service has bleached and lost many clothes. They claim to offer engaging activities yet they count passing out a daily flyer or having residents watch Dean and Friends on a never-ending loop in the common room as such. They claim to have personal relationships with residents and accommodate each ones needs. Yet, they cannot even keep track of Mom's hearing aids and phone. I doubt anyone believes this is what they want for their parent, especially for the extremely high prices they charge.

      Be sure to have a camera in your loved one's room if you move them here. A camera where you can check on them and record when people come into the room. The care team during the week in amazing. The weekends were always iffy. There was no consistent care over the weekends. The management is the worst part of Sunrise. My mother passed away on Sunday and there have been no condolences from Cheryl W**** after my mom was there for 51/2 years. Cheryl never would investigate any issues or complaints that I had. She would just say we are not perfect. Things may get better for a week or so but then the issues came up over and over again. One time I asked her to please go talk to my mother and assure her that the issue at the time would be rectified and she said, I'm not going to go talk to your mother. She had no respect for me or my mother. She has no empathy - she is all about the bottom line. As long as someone like her is in charge I would never recommend Sunrise Frisco to anyone. If I could have moved my mother, I would have, but there comes a time when the move would be too traumatic to your loved one. I had to constantly fight for my mother's care - the food would be bad, then get better, then get bad again. As I said the weekend shifts were awful. I had a camera in mom's room (which I highly recommend) and caught a med tech refusing to give my mother meds at the prescribed time for them. I also caught a med tech giving my mother her meds 4 hours before the prescribed time. The only time I felt my mother was safe was when Grace, Romana, Sophie, Darrin, Jonas, Richard or Tamika were working. The other issue is the system they use to charge you. It is very arbitrary and difficult to get a clear picture of the costs. If you want to meet with management to discuss anything they make you feel like you are imposing on them.
