Kinel Customs cannot be trusted to deliver quality work in the timeframe they promise. They are overpriced, fail to read/adhere to their contracts, and their staff was rude. Ive worked with Kinel continuously for 15 months. So, this review speaks to how Kinel treats their good, repeat customers.Kinel delivered work an average of four months late. Kinel routinely committed workers to show on a specific date only to give a no-call-no-show. Kinels damaged my home during plumbing rough-in; I was told repairs were at my expense. Kinel issued a change order after work was done, which is explicitly prohibited in the contract, and the work was in the original contract scope. Kinel requested payment based on how they typically write a contract, instead of how the contract was actually written. Every time Ive shopped Kinels prices around, I have found significant savings from someone who delivered better work and showed up when they said they would. Kinel made framing mistakes, misrouted wires, left paint touchups and drywall repairs, and trim was improperly installed or never installed at all. I was twice told to cut my own tile, even though labor was in the contract.Kinel was contracted for a job reusing existing brick. Kinel threw away my brick and delivered something I explicitly said I didnt want. Kinel offered no remediation. The brick then cracked two months later. Kinel exhibited an inexcusable lack of knowledge by wildly guessing and misusing technical terms to explain the cause of the defect. I hired a professional ***** to fix Kinels numerous mistakes.One of Kinels employees stood in my home and lectured me on patience (after I patiently let him make any commitment he wanted, and fail to honor it time and time again), made sexist comments directed at my wife, made derisive comments about my age, profession, and income (none of which he knew anything about), and routinely shared unsolicited critical opinions about my neighbors.
