I reached out to quality remodeling llc and 2 other companies for a bathroom shower remodeling project. After consultation with all 3 companies, I decided to proceed and sign a contract with quality remodeling with a deposit of $3437.05 on January 19th. They came to my house to get the measurements and order parts. The timeline they provided after paying the deposit was delayed. They later came and started the project with demolition and installation of the shower base and told me that they would return in a 48 hour timeframe after everything dries to install the shower doors. They returned 4 days later to install the shower doors after I contacted them several times. When they arrived they told me that the doors now wouldn't fit because my house is old and seems the walls had moved so they needed to now order custom doors and were going to charge an additional $1600 dollars. At that time I made another payment of $2437.05 thinking that would cover the change in supplies. The first glass doors they ordered are still sitting in the bathroom and they claim they cannot do anything with them. I paid for those doors as part of the set ordered and should be reimbursed for them if they cannot be used. They refuse to deduct the cost of the new doors from the cost of the total project. I should not be penalized for paying another $1600 for their mishap. They are the professionals and should know what they were doing. They are now refusing to do any more work until I pay for the new doors. The original quote of $6874.10 has been paid less $1000. So far the only remaining balance I owe them from the original quote is a $1000. I should not have to pay another $1600 for custom doors because of their mistake. Please help me resolve this issue. This was supposed to be a 2 day project but has now been 2 months

***************************** entered a contract with Quality Remodeling LLC on 1/16/2024 for a shower area only remodel. Neo angle shower kit was installed, but due to the unforeseen circumstances discovered after demo the project would require a change order for custom glass or a curved shower rod. Customer made a payment of $2437.05 in accordance of their original contract before custom glass was measured or further discussed. Original contract still has $1,000.00 left unpaid (which is in accordance with the contract)

As mentioned, due to the latent physical condition of the home, which the customer acknowledge that the home was older, signed (attached as well) change order #1, approving the custom shower door. Invoice was promptly sent (see attached) and in accordance with contract term #2 Change Orders, which is due at the time of signing. At this time no payment has been made.

It is our goal at Quality Remodeling to fulfill every project the way it is intended. At this time with a legally signed change order that is now past due, this matter will have to be sent to legal unless other terms can be reached.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The business is still asking me to pay for something I wasnt aware of and did not explain to me that the change order required additional payment until it was mentioned to me later. They pressured me into signing for the change order to get the work moving without giving me the time to read the document in its entirety. I paid for the materials upfront as requested and should not have to pay for additional supplies since the previous purchased supplies were not used. I am requesting that 1) the business come back and take all their materials and either demolish work that has been done this far and refund the money paid this far or 2) fix the issue and get their remaining balance of $1,000. I am a retiree and cannot afford the additional amount of almost $1600 that they are asking for. Please hey also broke the contract when they mentioned that the work will take 2 days when it has been two months plus to date.

      Regards,

On May 8, 2022 I signed a contract for a kitchen remodel/new floor installation at which time I was working with a Design Specialist. The quoted price of the project is $47,925.47 of which I have paid $28,276.04. A 35% deposit and 25% for kitchen layout/design approval (before cabinets are ordered). The kitchen remodel includes the demo and removal of existing kitchen cabinets and countertops, removal and reset refrigerator and cooktop, install new cabinets, granite countertops, single basin sink, ceramic wall tile, vinyl plank flooring in kitchen and family room, install LED lighting, new cook vent, dishwasher and beverage cooler. In October I was informed the cabinet company they were working with went out of business and the Design Specialist I was working with is no longer with the company. They are currently working with a *******************.I have asked several times for a verification that my cabinets have been ordered or a refund. I have neither.

Quality Remodeling has been in consistent correspondence with *******************. She officially picked out and signed off on her Custom Cabinet Color on Friday December the 16th 2022. We have also stated that her cabinets are in process, but it was stressed that a cabinet color choice is extremely important in order to properly have everything completed. Additionally the customer has not finished picking out their selections for their project per their contract. At this time we are still emailing and calling the customer to pick out these items, which are needed before the job can begin when the cabinets do arrive. Our last email with the customer was on December the 30th. During this email I once again stressed the importance of picking out the items needed per her contract that way when the cabinets do arrive we are able to start the job.

We are happy to upload any additional emails and files if needed to help resolve this complaint as we find it very odd to have been submitted.

As explained in my original complaint, I signed a contract with Quality Remodeling on May 8, 2022, it is now January 16, 2023 and I do not have a new kitchen. The only thing I have gotten from QR are email requests for me to move forward and make purchases for appliances that I planned to replace for this project. Because of their delay and failure to provide me with any type of confirmation that my project is moving forward and/or in process I have obtained legal counsel.
