I purchased a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado on 8/16/2021 from Haley. About a week after my purchase, I noticed that my truck was having a hard time shifting from park to drive/reverse. I reached out to Haley and was told to bring the vehicle back for diagnostic test on the transmission as well as electrical issue with windows. They stated that the issue is a GMC issue and I needed to schedule a service appointment with Haley GMC. Needless to say, Ive been told that it may be sensor or GMC recall issue that I'm stuck with now. I've gotten a complete run around from both Haley Toyota and GMC servicing. I have a pickup truck with a payment over $*** *hat I can't put in reverse and make it up my driveway. The truck takes a few minutes to pull off in drive. I really need help. I believe I was sold a lemon and am stuck with this damaged transmission.Business response

Traded in my 2010 Toyota Prius for an “as is” 2014 Chevrolet Sonic LTZ turbo on January 19th with an auto loan of just shy of *k through my credit union. I was led to believe due to the dealers paper work as well and verbally implied to that the oil system was functioning as it should have been… however, on the drive home January 19th the check oil light came on and I found a leak (which turned out to be coolant) on my drive way 2 hrs later. The aforementioned light coming on and leak led to my having to return to the dealer the same day I purchased the vehicle in question to have them work on it. Thursday February 3rd they called me to pick up the chevrolet from them and the oil light was STILL on and it was starting to idle like a manual transmission that was about to stall. As of February 4th I picked the car up prior to their closing got the car home fine went to check it the next morning February 5th and the check oil light is back on and it is still idling in a way on and off that makes it feel as though it is a manual transmission about to stall out… when it is an automatic and the check oil light is still on. I would like to have this fixed (free of charge) as this was something they told me was functioning properly prior to purchase and after purchase. If that is not possible I would like my trade in returned to me as well as a full refund on the bank check funds used to purchase the Chevrolet Sonic.Business response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 16744789, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
1) i did not state I wanted to back out of the deal I stated I wanted the vehicle fixed so it was in the condition that was implied to be in prior to and at purchase free of charge and that if that was NOT possible then I wanted a refund of the bank loan money and my trade in back.
2) the dealership in question after talking to them just this morning even agreed that HAD THEY THEMSELVES known the issues that are going on with said vehicle, existed that they WOULDN’T have sold the car even in an “AS IS” capacity. They then stated they thought it better under those circumstances that they work towards returning my bank loan money as well as my trade in vehicle

Whitney Carter
