Around the middle of January of this year (2024), we had a water leak in our downstairs master closet ceiling, that came from the toilet in the 2nd floor bathroom. Further investigation showed the cracked toilet ****** was the culprit. We involved our homeowner's insurance and hired this contractor to address the issue. No contract was ever signed with this contractor, but we had received his estimate. The project scope of work grew as we got more into it, i.e., after removing the toilet and some of the flooring, more water damage and mold was discovered. This contractor was supposed to make repairs to the toilet ****** and toilet drain down below and in the 1st floor closet ceiling and remove and replace the flooring with all new flooring. After noticing the poor workmanship of this contractor (e.g., the toilet drain leaked in the ceiling downstairs after his repair/replacement, he didn't use the proper technique by code when adapting the new PVC to the existing ABS drain pipe, he had to cut the newly installed ****** after realizing he needed to wait to put the flooring down first and made a complete mess of the cut to the ****** and the sub-flooring, he left the sewer drains open and not sealed on the toilet ****** and two sink drains, which can be extremely harmful to the people living in the home and he didn't remove any of the baseboard prior to installing the floor, etc. I have an email from him where he agreed it was best for him not to finish the job. I had to rip out all of his work, including the flooring and start all over. There are more items I can list of his poor workmanship.
