I moved to the Regency Square Apartments on August 28th 21. There were numerous issues. I brought these issues upon my move-in discrepancy form and reminded the landlord multiple times. Each time she would insure me that the issues will get taken care up and that they got me. I have been more than cool calm and understanding of this uncertain situation. Due to the character limit, I can only put the main issues: 1. Most of the outlets didn't work or would hum and spark when anything was plugged into them. At times they would shut off, or cut the breakers off. It took about a month and a half before I had reliable power, and even then, the breaks would still reset, and the outlet here and there would stop working. The stovetop was unreliable and the burners would either work or heat up way too hot too fast. This issue was fixed in April 2022. I haven't even tried the oven. 2. Big issue was/is bed bugs. I found a number of bugs and eggs all over the apartment. Above doors windows, on the floor in the bathroom, inside the power outlets. For a short time, I assumed they were dead because in some areas they were painted over and plastered into the walls where holes had been filled in. I alerted my landlord who told me to treat it on my own and she would have someone spray when she could. I threw out all mine and my son's bedding. I spent my money and set off a few rounds of bed bug bombs. I did a few rounds of that over a period of a few weeks. In April I found marks on my son and found out the bedbugs had returned. I told my landlord who told me that they hadn't sprayed my unit since 2019. Again I started to treat in and had to pay out of pocket for supplies and a place to stay. They said that my unit is now on the list to get treated but that they would reimburse me for my efforts to remove the bugs. The supplies and hotel or my new bedding. In fact, she told me I am lucky they don't charge me for the *** dollars for the exterminator to come out.

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/05/23) */ Electrical complaint: The electrical issues(outlets and range) mentioned were addressed and resolved Saturday, 4/30/22, by our maintenance technician once we were made aware of the issues. To our knowledge there are no additional complaints for any electrical/range issues that were mentioned. If there are still issues, we will resolve. Alleged Bedbug complaint: The tenant moved in 8/28/21. The unit WAS treated for bedbugs prior to his move-in, and there was no evidence of an active infestation prior to tenants move-in. The tenant lived in the unit for approximately 8 months before letting us know there was a bedbug issue...yet we conceded to not charge the tenant for the treatment. 1st treatment was completed May 2. 2nd treatment was completed May 16. 3rd treatment is scheduled for the 1st week of June. Management attempted to contact the tenant 5/23...the date the BBB complaint was received...in an effort to determine what additional steps need to be taken (which will include allowing the tenant to break his lease without penalty and move).
