Decided to use Monarch Movers over another company (which we ended up using) because Wayne always answered the phone and was responsive to my questions. There were some issues with receiving emails to get the quote, but we got it worked out over the phone. We paid the deposit on the internet and received a confirmation number and date/time for the move. On the day of the move, no show. We tried calling, no answer. We tried emailing, no response. We left messages and even found a personally listed telephone number and left a message. We finally got a call back 2 1/2 hours after the move was to start. First excuse, the move was on their schedule the following date. No, I have a written confirmation for the day and time. The next excuse, they had phone issues. Really? There was an offer to make the move the following day for a reduced price. My response, "I wouldn't let you move my furniture if you did it for free." Not sure how they stay in business and I am glad we didn't end up using them to move our antique furniture. With so little respect for us I can't imagine how poorly they would have treated our valuables. We did get out deposit back. We understand that movers often dump a smaller job for a larger one. I don't know if that's what happened to us, but we had an agreement and certainly got dumped on. I would recommend to avoid this outfit. We ultimately went with another mover and we were highly satisfied with that experience and ultimately paid $*** less than the amount to be paid Monarch. I wanted to submit this review with no stars but it requires at least a rating of 1.
