My late husband had a pension set up with ****** in the event of his death that I would continue to receive his pension. This past April he pasted away suddenly I contacted Athene the first of May to report his death and was told that once they received a copy of his death certificate within 3 days I would receive paper work to fill out . The first week of June the certificate was mailed to them I contacted Athene to verify that it had been received and was told that they had received it and everything had been approved it was just a matter of getting paper work signed.They told me that they had over paid him and that money would have to be refunded I asked if the over payment could be taken out of what I was due and they said yes I would just have to sign an affidavit which they would include with rest of papers to sign.From the first of June til mid July I contacted them numerous times inquring about paperwork that I had not received yet left voice messages but never got a responce.Finally received papers toward the end of July which did not contain the affidavit .I filled out paperwork and had three different people look over it to make sure everything was filled out correctly and signed made copies of it and mailed it to them on July 29th .First monthly payment was to have been in August asked to have affidavit faxed to me I signed and faxed back August 26th now they are saying can't meet September deadlne because I didn't sign tax forms which my copy shows I did and received these papers one month later informing me. I cant get anywhere with them One person says one thing and another something totally different. I would much rather have my husband back rather than his money not theirs don't know what else to do so very stressful not knowing from month to month if bills will get paid.4 months is way to long to process something that was already setup FYI have still not received papers that were mailed the 17th Have no faith that things will be resolved by OctBusiness response
