I thought i was being admitted to Dinwiddie Health & Rehab center on 4-1 -2023.I recently received a bill from Dinwiddie HRC stating that I owe them $1,650. My insurance plan with Optima is zero copay for days 1 though 20. This prompted a phone call to Optima for clarification. Optima informed me that Dinwiddie HRC filed the claim as a hospital inpatient stay requiring me to pay $1,650 when I thought my cost would be zero. I even had a conversation with the director of ****** Services to inform her that I had 20 days of skill nursing benefits at no cost. I was deceived by Dinwiddie HRC and now I am expected to pay $1,650.Business response

This is the 1st notice rec'd regarding this complaint. Due to HIPAA, we are unable to give out any information except to those listed on file. This notice states there is a HIPPA release, but we did not receive a copy of such. I would suggest that ********************** reach out to his insurance provider. When an insurance claim is processed, they determine if there is a patient responsibility and when that type of information is received, we then have to bill a patient accordingly. When a patient is admitted, insurances are verified, and the insurance companies also inform providers that his is not a guaranteed payment.
