They drained my transmission fluid and added oil. Ruined my vehicle. My insurance is covering it because I have no receipt just the oil sticker. The have no integrity and refused to admit they did any wrong. Don't go to this garage.

    Cliff's Service Station Response

    06/12/2023

On May 11, 2023, Mr. ****** brought his 2015 Subaru to our business for an oil change. Then on May 17, Mr. ****** called the business and stated, “the transmission is shot.” Therefore, we asked for proof from a Dealership saying that we had “drained his transmission fluid and added oil.” His response was, “Well you have insurance don’t you.” We requested an itemized statement, he then later brought by a document from **** ******, in which showed all the “past” problems this vehicle has had with the transmission. We have been in business for 65 years, and have a routine down when performing oil change maintenance on vehicles: we drain the oil via the oil drain plug, remove the old oil filter and replace with the required new filter, then we fill the car with the required type and amount of oil, we then check the oil level and start the vehicle to insure there are no leaks/problems, turn the vehicle off and check the oil level again, ensuring all caps are tight before the vehicle leaves our bay. Therefore, we do not feel that we would have “drained the transmission fluid and added 10 quarts of oil,” as stated by Mr. ******. If the vehicle had too much oil added, the technician would have noticed it running out of the oil spout at that time. Furthermore, if we drained his transmission fluid, then how did he drive on it for 6 days? Mr. ****** said that he did not have “all of these problems until we changed his oil.” Changing the oil will not cause your tire light and “every light in the car” to come on. According to Mr. ******, “we” caused all of the vehicle’s problems that were stated, on the vehicle that **** ****** listed. In which all of the problems were listed “Past.” According to the Subaru FAQs page, If a vehicle was driven “with 10 quarts of oil” that only hold 5, the engine would have hydro locked. Also, that model of Subaru will only hold up to 5 quarts before spilling over onto the motor, in which oil would have been splashed everywhere under the hood and motor. If we feel we made this mistake, we would in fact make it right. However, Mr. ****** was unable to prove that “we” caused of all the problems listed on his documents from **** ******. We value our customers and take pride in our work. We feel this vehicle has unfortunately had transmission problems for years, as shown on the Dealership report, and therefore we are not at fault for “causing all of these problems,” as Mr. ****** states.SOURCE: CARFAX.COM Order CARFAX Reports We found 35 history records on this vehicle. 2015 SUBARU FORESTER 2.5I PREMIUM VIN:*****************
