we took occupancy of our new home (custom built by ******) in november, ***** it is now 18 months later and items remain on the "punch list" that have not been addressed/solved to our satisfaction. the house was completed in a great hurry because the builder was running up against the pre-determined move-in date. as a result, there are many examples of poor workmanship, mistakes and even issues that could never be resolved without major reconstruction. most egregious, however are the verbal promises made regarding various issues and never kept. now, they are being rejected outright because they were not put in writing.

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/05/27) */ Most of the items but not allthat the customers are requesting are not punch list items but ****** Construction has made every effort and continues to make every effort to satisfy the customer. It did take a long time to complete the punch list but keep in mind that we were in the middle of the pandemic so getting into customers houses was a problem. The item mentioned that the customer says was committed to verbally by one of my employees was in no part of our contract to build them a new home. This is a desired convenience item that we are not obligated to do, wasn't in our contract or specifications and will not be done by our company. Thank you. **** ****** Consumer Response /* (3000, 12, 2022/06/02) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) after ** months, covid is no longer an excuse and will not be accepted. our house was ALWAYS available to sub-contractors. if the "item mentioned" was not part of the contract, then why did a ****** employee start the job and promise to finish it? not punch list items? the house was wired for a computer network with eight connections. two of them DO NOT WORK because the system was never checked. those two lines are going to be replaced. the bannister of our staircase needs to be re-finished and that was ALWAYS on the list. we are planning to have an independent builder/inspector examine the property and submit their evaluation regarding the general quality of how the home was constructed. if the punch list is not cleared forthwith, the next discussion will involve the value of the poor workmanship and other mistakes the inspection uncovers.
