Last year I got a letter from a Company called Blackwater Legal Group claiming that I owed ******* from 12 years ago from Check Into Cash. I vaguely remember using them but thought they were paid off. I called the company and they threatened that if I did not set up a payment plan, I would be sued. I paid them ****** because I assumed it was real. I then researched and found other threats and scams by this company so I stopped paying them in Nov of 2022. In Aug I got a text message from a new company called BlackStone Legal Group and a new address . I panicked and sent them another ***** to leave me alone until I find out more info. I done some more research and found that this company is possibly a scam. Thanks BlackStone Legal Group **** ********. Received a letter about a installment loan from EZCORP threatening a lawsuit and civil court judgement. Threatened to subpoena family members to testify in court. Also threatened garnishment and/or liebe against my property.Customer response

To whom it may concern I ********************* received a letter from Blackstone legal group official business **********************************************,ga30304.stated I am in debt with check into cash with the amount of $1,056.44.if I pay now the interest will not be added. I ask for a account number, address,or phone number so I can get more information. She stated the place is no longer open.she said her name is ********. I received a letter stating I owe Ezcorp money for a payday loan..This company is defunct and has closed ..as I researched them .The letter gave me 3 days to pay 2 of which are on a weekend .Asking for *******. Claim they will place a lien on my property and take my bank account..I live on social security which is very little and medical bills for the past year take most of that as I had a large mass removed in May and I am still battling from that. They say they will have my husband and dead father testify against me .. They list a job I have not worked at in over 7 years after being injured on that job.I never had a payday loan with ezcorp and not for that amount of money either.. scammers like this need to be stopped they cause people to have near heart attacks . If legitimate they need to send proof of the so called loan with all info and a copy of the initial agreement .Customer response

I received a letter from Blackstone Legal Group about a civil lawsuit claiming that I owe a company called EZCorp EZmoney. It did not give a date of when the loan was taken out. Received letter from Blackstone Legal Group stating notification of lawsuit and civil complaint that they would get my father and sister in law to testify against me for a over 10 year payday loan they state that I took out. They are wanting a payment of $2161.60 but would settle for $998.00. I called cashnet usa to see if they show anything in system and they state they don't have anything.Initial Complaint

I would like them to provide proof of them being a collection agency for Cash Net USA, i believe they are a scam, i need proof of all the documents from cashnet, saying they hired them to collect on Cash Net behalf, i also would like Cash Net to call me or send a letter on there letter head of explanation of charges, because i believe the loan was only $300Initial Complaint

on 8/7/23 I received a letter from this law firm stating I owed money for a pasy payday loan from 2012, they had my full name, address, social security number and where I worked, I got scared into paying them $342.00 was told Id receive a receipt view email, I never did, then I reported the payday loan place to the BBB which they called me and informed me that I never have had any kind of loan through them, I then reported it to my bank who had me call this law firm and I left several messages and finally had someone answer, which I explained to her the situation and she said that someone would be calling me back and it is now been 6 days and no return call, I would like my money back!!Initial Complaint

Blackstone Legal Group violated my Fair Credit Reporting Act rights by illegally pulling my credit. I did not give this organization my consent via phone, application, email, mail or any other method yet I have proof that they have and threatened to continue to do so.Customer response
