      I had a screening colonoscopy performed on July 30, 2021. My health insurance (Cigna) covered the entirety of the medical bill. I was later contacted by the billing office regarding the need for payment for the medical bill. I sent them documentation from ***** showing that the bill was paid. I didn't receive any further correspondence until several months later when I received notification from a debt collector regarding the medical bill. I continued to correspond with the billing office and was informed that the billing office could not locate the payment. I provided the billing office with the additional information they requested which included a copy of the check, explanation of payment, and date of check issuance. I was reassured that everything was handled. Several months later I received a notice to appear in Hanover County Court regarding the Gastrointestinal Specialist medical bill debt. I again contacted the billing office and they reassured me that the issue was addressed and that the they would reach out their legal team to cancel the court filing. On 4/23/24 I received notification from my employer that my wages were going to garnished because of this debt. On 4/24/24 I paid $1148.05 to Gastrointestinal Specialists for services that were already paid for by *****. This entire situation has been unduly stressful and highlights the gross incompetence of the practice's billing office. I would like to be reimbursed for the overpayment of $1148.05.

      This practice requires a $500 no refundable deposit to setup a colonoscopy. After full payment of charges the deposit is returned. It still has not been paid.colonoscopy performed 9/7. First bill was denied by insurance on 9/16. I called on 10/4, they found they used the ring code and resubmitted. Denied again on 11/2. On 11/29, I called again they resubmitted. I also called the Cigna. ***** informed me that there weee several claims from them that were getting denied because they were all submitted wrong. ***** then agreed to call them and walk them through how to submit my claim. Claim was paid on 11/30. In December I did not get refund. 1/26, I called and was told they only pay out once a month and I missed the December and January window. Ii would be processed with feb payments. Still no payment. I called in March and was told it some how got missed, I would get in April. Still no refund. It seems they are running a scam to keep peoples money interest free to fund their business.
