Got a loan from my credit union for $1,000 states no credit check it's a perk for having direct deposit.so I payed it down and got another using some to pay off the last bit of the first.so im paying it like normal with extra payments as well. The first loan was in the last part of August. second loan in January. Well it's the start of June and grass season has started already and my tractor needs repairs so I take it to get fixed and drop it off stopping on the way back to do the same thing I preavieosly did the last 2 times tell the rep. What I needed and was fine with it she got up left the office then returned and told me I was not approved confused and getting upset I asked why remember it's a perk ya need direct deposit check Been there over a year I believe check been a member 25 years the other 2 are the exact same ones so she said it was debt to income ratio she pulled a report and then said and I was in a debt relief program and then mentioned a bankruptcy from 2009 horrible wreck almost did not make it non weight bearing on all 4 limbs any way 14 years ago or 15but nothing changed I should have left with the loan I even tried talking to higher-ups And and this would have been the same loan as the first two that I started with Not one thing should have changed except for the loan the term would go longer still less than a year.Business response

I have had multiple issues with Blue Eagle credit union. My first major issue began when I was told the way that you could transfer funds outside of your checking or savings account though their bill pay process. I was directed step-by-step instructions on how to go through and manually transfer outside of my Blue Eagle account into another financial institution And the steps that I was provided worked for a certain amount of time I ran into an issue which caused my account to become severely over-drafted and there was no exclamation no sorry no apologies just nothing absolutely nothing. My second issue was I called in to have a credit card mailed to me two weeks prior to going on a vacation, I was told I could not mail the card that day I had to sign paperwork via email for them to go through and order it and then come to find out after me the customer calling to verify receive date that nothing was ever sent after the paperwork was signed a week prior. The representative I spoke to that particular day advised me that they would expedite a card and expected and three businesses. Third, I did an automatic payment set up to make sure my credit card was automatically being paid from my BLUE eagle Checking to my Blue Eagle credit card. After a few weeks, I decided that I did not want to do that and I called in to have the automatic payment canceled. I was told the payment was canceled weeks later after trying to take money and put it into another account. I see the automatic payment was still on the account. I called and spoke to a representative. They walk me step-by-step to the mobile app on how to cancel it. I let them know that this has been a terrible experience banking with Blue Eagle credit union and there also was no apologies no solutions the response was is there anything else I can do for you and hung up the phone. I would not recommend blue Eagle credit union as your first choice as a credit union to do business with they lack in empathy, customer service and problem-solving skills as a whole. Highly disappointing.Business response

Applied for a Blue Eagle CU auto loan with ***** *****, Loan Officer, at the ***** ****** Branch on 6/27/2022 included $495.00 GAP insurance that I did not want, or even realized it was included in the loan package. Didn't receive the paperwork on the loan until 9/9/2022. I am now told that there is a 60-day cancellation limit on GAP insurance. I have discussed this with ***** and her manager, they tell me the time limit has passed and nothing can be done. My complaint is, that I was not provided the paperwork to read until after the 60 days had passed.Business response

Mr. *******,GAP insurance is a voluntary product that is offered with vehicle secured loans. Our Member Advisors (loan officers) review the GAP product in detail when the other terms of the loan are discussed with every applicant. If the member verbally accepts GAP insurance then it is included as part of the loan. Within the loan documents is a separate GAP Sales Contract and Election form that clearly discloses the price of the product, pertinent terms of the product (like the 60 day cancellation clause) and requires the applicant to sign acknowledging that they wish to purchase the product. There is no way to purchase GAP insurance from the Credit Union without both verbally accepting the product and signing the GAP Sales Contract and Election form. All of our members are given copies of every document that is part of their loan at the time that they sign accepting the various terms of the loan. If they sign via DocuSign, they have a full copy of all of the signed documents within DocuSign that they may print or store electronically for their records. As was previously relayed to you by multiple employees, all Credit Union procedures were followed within the transaction that your complaint references. There is no refund, as you've requested, due to Credit Union procedures being followed and your willing acceptance of the product. You are welcome to contact our Chief Lending Officer, ***** ******, should you wish to discuss the matter further.Respectfully,Blue Eagle Credit UnionCustomer response

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. My daughter and I were together when we met with the loan officer. We do recall her speaking of a package which included an excellent rate, but do not remember talking about GAP insurance. We did not know this was included until the second payment was due and I questioned the extra charge on the account. We did not receive the paperwork on the loan until 9/9/2022. We did make several trips to Blue Eagle during this time of the loan, and the holiday of July 4th was this first weekend. The weekend of Labor day also came at a time when I was questioning the extra amount of the loan and ***** asked me to wait until after the holiday and we would discuss it. If the problem had been taked of when we first addressed it, there's a possibility that it would have been within the 60- day window.
