I ordered an adjustable bed and mattress from SleepEssentials.com . The mattress consists of 3 rubber foam layers and the company's “comfort assurance” guarantee stated that if the mattress was too soft or too hard they would exchange one of the layers if requested within the first 60 days. The mattress layers were shipped separately from the bed & arrived first. When the bed arrived it was damaged & never even removed from the truck. It was returned for a replacement. The SleepEssentials.com salesman assured me that the 60 day “comfort assurance” guarantee would not begin until I received the adjustable bed on which to lay the mattress. The adjustable bed arrived just before Christmas (December 22nd). The bed was too soft to be comfortable. The salesman made some suggestions, all of which I tried, but with no luck. As the end of the 60 day period approached, I made several attempts to contact my salesman regarding their guarantee, but he did not reply. Finally on February 16th I included the SleepEssentials.com owner on an email to the salesman. The owner replied by asking what I “need to make it better. Firmer? Softer? Let us know. Also, you are outside the Comfort Assurance which is 60 days.” I told the owner I needed a firmer mattress and reminded him that the original adjustable bed had been damaged & that he was one who had initiated the replacement. I also indicated that the salesman had assured me that the 60 day period wouldn't start until I received the replacement bed. The owner replied asking me if I had tried removing the top layer of foam and sleeping on the next one down to see if that was any improvement. I did as he suggested, but it was still uncomfortable. I emailed the owner to let him know his suggestion did not work and ask that he call me about how to proceed. I have not heard back from him despite sending several emails.
