      We have received for over ten years without problems, but over the last six months it has one problem after another. My most recent payment, made electronically, cleared my bank on March 4; however, when we didn’t receive a paper on March 5, I was told by “customer service” (what a joke!) that my account was terminated for non-payment. To date they have not credited my payment and there is NO ONE who can or will help. One would think the Roanoke Times would care about actually providing customers with help! Obviously they do not. If I could, I’d give them -5 stars.

      Suspicious practices. Call received from someone with accent about bill demanding I give updated credit card information over phone. Recently lost pirse and mult cards replaced. Thought this maybe one account still catching up with. Said i do not give that information out over phone. Agent very pushy trying to get my credit card info. Never recieved notice problem payment and went online during call and did not show account problem. Their agent insisted i had to give information that moment, would lower bill. I requested email statement and she said cant do that. Told her mail bill which i find they add charges if mailed. She kept saying she can't do that. She said she can lower my bill if i paid right then. She confirmed my info and i called her back it was not a spam call as i thought. I went ahead and lowered my bill anyhow by canceling subscription. I do not like they make calls like this.

      Same as all the others, told 10.99/ month, billed 21.99 / month tried to cancel no response or refund, I have contacted my credit card company, BTW a couple of years ago paying for a subscription for my aunt, mother. And myself THEY WERE ALL DIFFERENT PRICES, get Dan-O to do a story on that!

      Paid $132.08 for a 12-mo. E-edition subscription that expires October '23. As of today, June 29th, 2023 we can no longer access the E-edition subscription. We were told on two different phone calls "Our Subscription Was Canceled". They could not tell me by who, when, and why. Plus, the only phone numbers available are ones that have individuals that do not have the capacity to correct any problem. We have been scammed by the Roanoke Times.

      After receiving an invoice for our yearly paper subscription, I contacted customer service for clarification ( following an online ad for a much reduced price for a yearly subscription). I was informed initially that nothing could be done to change our charge. Then , after I threatened to go public, the paper offered a slightly discounted price. We have endured many late deliveries, occasionally no delivery, and one delivery person who characterized us as “customers who tend to complain “ when we didn’t receive our paper in a timely fashion. The Roanoke Times has serious management/ employer problems. No small wonder the readership has plummeted. We sure wish for another option.

      I have a question about our bill at the Roanoke Times. I have been trying for three days to get through to a customer service agent. I've held the phone for over an hour, and at one point, I left my phone on speaker so I could get other things done while I waited. That time I was connected for one hour and 45 minutes and finally, I just hung up. I 've left my phone number to be called back several times, and so far, NOTHING!!! I cannot do what I need to do on-line.......I want to talk to someone. Wouldn't you think that as expensive as the newspaper is these days, that a decent Customer Service Department would be in order??? What is going on with The Roanoke Times!!! If it was my choice, I would not subscribe, but my husband likes to get up in the morning and read the paper since he is retired. I get my news from ****, **** and *** ****!

      I signed up for a $1 6-month subscription just to read a single article and have been trying to cancel ever since so I don't get billed. They will not allow you to cancel online and you have to call a "subscriber services" number which puts you on hold indefinitely. I have yet to be able to reach an individual. The first time I called, I was on hold for over 20 minutes until they disconnected the line. The second time my estimated wait time was 39 minutes. I am so frustrated. This seems very scamlike to not allow people to cancel their subscriptions. I will absolutely contest any renewal fees. Do not recommend subscribing to the online access service EVER!

      I have tried in emails and phone calls to have my subscription cancelled. No one responds whatsoever! They have confused my newly created account with my Dads account who is in Va Veterans Care Center and newspaper is delivered to that address. I am my Dads POA and they have confused my account with his- 2 separate checking accounts. They have already pulled funds from my account and I never have received one paper. I do not want my Dads account affected; he is 97 years of age and a Veteran. Please just cancel my newly created account ! I am Dave ****** and he is John *******

      Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have stopped the account at *** *** ***** ** ***** which was started 7/21/22. The account for **** ****** ** **** ********** *** ** ** *** is active with the same payment method that has been on the account for quite some time.

      paid in full for 1 year delivery all of a sudden I started getting 2 papers -call to get it straight and they stopped paper altogether. this is not the first delivery problem and I've had enough. the more you try to resolve a issue , the worse it gets. at this point I only want my money back. I don' t see how they stay in business.
