My son received surgery at this center on 1/26/23. The center ran our insurance a week ahead of the surgery and let us know that we would owe $1,121.04 upfront. We paid this amount on the morning of the surgery. Between the time they ran insurance and the date of service, we had 2 additional claims process through our insurance which caused us to reach our deductible before the date of the surgery, meaning we actually owed less than their original estimate. Our Explanation of Benefits, dated 2/6 (document attached) shows that our cost should have been $414.53. I have called the center multiple times asking for the refund amount of $706.51. They have told me repeatedly that ****** is denying the CPT codes and there is nothing they can do until ****** approves. 1. Doesn't my EOB prove that ****** has already processed the claim? 2. This is a VERY common surgery which they likely process dozens of times per week. How and why are they getting the billing codes wrong? 3. I was told they refiled the claim in February and on 4/17. Why did they wait two whole months before filing a third time? We just want our money returned so that we can pay other outstanding medical debt.Business response

To whom it concerns:After looking at this account, the original surgery date was 1/26/2023. ****** **** originally processed this claim on 2/10/2023, upon review of the EOB we noticed the claim was submitted incorrectly and we refiled a new corrected claim and didn't receive a response form ****** until 4/21/2023. This updated EOB was just generated today, and a refund will be initiated for the patient tomorrow, 04/25/23.Customer response
