May 25, 2023 The 3rd party vehicle protection plan is a scam I paid $315.00 for the 3 months or 3000 mile plan and discovered after calling the plan to ask about filing a claim that it is limited to $500.00 life time of the plan. I purchased this car a 2014 Nissan Murano with about 123k miles on May 1, 2023 for $9,000 dollars plus additional fee for protection plan. The car died while driving it 25 days later a mechanic code reading was for transmission so I had it towed to a transmission garage. Here they told me it was a used transmission in it already and had several missing bolts. There was also a bad axle with busted boot issue. Estimation of repairs a few dollars shy of $7k. I called the dealer spoke to owner who was surprised to hear that the policy only covers up to $500 and gave me the local number and name of man they deal with for these policies to help keep their customers happy. I called the number given and the man said yes they have some $500 caps policies but he won't know until he looks at my policy and to text him the policy number and he will look it up and the issue and he will look it up. I texted everything I could think of to him and I'm waiting to hear back. My husband and I both was under the impression it was a full coverage policy no hint of a limited cap. Who pays $315.00 for a $500 policy it's more trouble then it's worth. I want some help paying for these repairs it's just not right to sell autos that break down right after purchasing. I need my car on the road I paid cash for the car it's all I had in the world and can not just lose all I have in it. I don't really know what my options are from this point but sure don't want to see anyone else buy from this company if they are unconcerned with making this sale right. I want refund of half of the cost to get my car back on the road.
