Hello,I saw a vehicle I wanted to purchase online (**** Lexus ES300) and asked ***************** if the vehicle was in good condition. He specifically stated the vehicle was in excellent shape and didn't need any work. So I sent a $300 deposit on 12/7/2022 through Zelle for the vehicle, and I told him I was going to pick up that Saturday, 12/10/2022. I got there and the car needed a battery charge to start. I then proceeded to test drive the car because I thought maybe it had been sitting in a while, and that's why it needed a jump. When test driving the vehicle, I smelled oil coming through the engine. When I got back to the dealership and cut the car off, it wouldn't crank. ********** said he knew it needed a battery and said the Advance auto store didn't have one. So he took the battery out of another Lexus ES300 and put it in the car I was hoping to purchase. My brother and I also told him and showed him the oil leaking/gushing in the motor. He said he knew about the issue and could have it fixed for $500. Also, some of the windows in the car wouldn't go down, but he had gotten a new inspection sticker on the car. ********** had three other Lexus ES300's on the lot, and we looked at and drove the ones that would drive, and they all needed repairs. He didn't tell us about any of the issues until we mentioned the issues, and he acted like they were no big deal and he could have them fixed. He wasn't trying to drop the price, and all the cars needed repairs. He was taking parts off one car putting them on the other ones. I was hoping atleast one of the four *****'s would be in good enough shape to drive home. I was scammed, and he knew the cars weren't any good. He was going to let me take the car home with a dead battery that wasn't going to make it up the street. I am also attaching a copy of our email conversations where I tried to handle this without filing any complaints. They refuse to give my deposit back.
