Two Dream Home Remodeling employees completed two follow up siding related tasks that I had requested. The work was done in a professional manner and was completed in a reasonable timeframe. Very honest about not needing the roof work that we inquired about. They had an enhancement solution for the ridge vent system that was existing. Great demonstration on the new product and its value to the roof overall and the vent covers. Will refer to others in the neighborhood that need a good reputable contractor for home related issues. They did a beautiful job a few years ago. When a problem did arise with my flashing I reached out to Alex and Daniil, their responsiveness was second to none. They assured me that they would take good care of me in a timely manner and they most certainly did! Be careful to read carefully both the contractor warranty and the product warranty. If either company goes out of business, you're out of luck. DreamHome installed triple-pane windows many years ago with a lifetime warranty on windows and labor. We were pleased with the work and the product. Over the years, the seals leaked on 4 sashes. The window company went out of business and the warranty is void. DreamHome said they couldn't help us and referred us to a glass company that wants $1,000 for 4 double-pane - they don't make triple - sashes! We offered to pay DreamHome's cost (not retail) for the sashes. They would not. They brag about quality products and impressive warranties. If they want a happy customer, they would meet us half-way.

Pat and ************* entered into a contract with DreamHome Remodeling, Inc. ("DreamHome") on or around January 4, 2003. The contract was to replace the windows on the *********'s house with ****** brand windows. The contract specifies that a "Lifetime warranty on labor is covered by Dreamhome, lifetime warranty on window frames guarantees that frames will not sag."
The contract clearly states that DreamHome provided a lifetime warranty on labor, however, as is made clear by the *********'s complaint, the ********'s were pleased with the work performed by DreamHome. Specifically, the complaint is regarding the product, not DreamHome's installation. Therefore, there is no coverage issues regarding the labor.
The only component of the products that DreamHome provides a lifetime warranty on are the window frames. As specified by the *********'s complaint, after almost 20 years of being installed, the seals on the windows are failing. As the seals of the windows were not included in DreamHome's material warranty, the *********'s complaint is not covered by the DreamHome's lifetime warranty.
In 2012, ******* filed bankruptcy and went out of business. We encourage the *********'s to see if he can recover for the defective window under *******'s bankruptcy.Customer Response

DreamHome does not address our request, and they know we can't recover under the bankruptcy so why suggest that. We simply ask that they order the 4 replacement sashes for us from SoftLite (who purchased Gorell) since Softlite only deals with contractors, not homeowners. We will pay for the sashes and install them ourselves if DreamHome doesn't want to install. We have the measurements. They don't even need to come to the house.
By the way, the seals failed well before 20 years. We haven't even had the windows 20 years.
