My complaint is against Wear Hair for You (https://www.wearhairforyou.com), the shop where I went with a friend to buy her first wig. I believe the proprietor of this shop, Laura W*****, engaged in unethical and unprofessional business practices. My friend sought help due to skin conditions and lost hair. Ms W***** placed a wig on my friend's head--who liked the wig, but the bangs were in her eyes. Ms. W***** asked if she wanted the bangs clipped--friend said yes. At no time did Ms W***** disclose any alteration of an original is a sale and all sales were final-nor did she disclose the price BEFORE she cut it but AFTER she swiped the credit card! ($699.00) Departing, my friend said to Ms W***** “I wish you had told me the price before you put it on my head and cut it.” The response was a glib: “I should have told you and for that I apologize”. She offered no redress. When asked how she wanted the receipt? email or text--email- the next day there was an email, but no content/attachment—or receipt. Asked for a 2nd email, Ms W***** sent a 2nd email but without content/ attachment. After several additional but unsuccessful attempts to reach the shop by phone to tell her a 2nd email had no receipt-- we had to drive back to the shop to collect it in person. Ms W***** had the receipt ready but without price! My friend asked her to complete the form with price but the woman replied she didn’t remember it! there was no price on the wig--so the amount charged was arbitrary! Ms W***** said it was “custom made”, but it was not “custom made’ for my friend--it was custom made for Ms W***** who cut the label out of the wig--NO label inside the wig to describe the fiber content or country of origin. NO printed after-care instructions, and no offer of assistance by phone if help was needed. I am submitting this complaint to alert and protect other consumers of the duplicitous nature of this business and sales practices of proprietor/owner, Ms Laura W*****.
