On 09/23/2021 my vehicle, 2022 ******* Palisade, was taken to this company to perform a chrome delete and paint brake calipers. A chrome delete refers to to all chrome parts on vehicle being painted a different color. My vehicle had all chrome parts painted black. The brake calipers were painted yellow. The vehicle was picked up 9/28/21. I immediately noticed the front grille had areas damaged and pulled/bent up from tool they used to try to remove the grille. The same damage show on the vehicle letters that were removed. Some areas still showed chrome. There are areas that are peeling off already that seem like a film instead of paint. The brake calipers/tire area were over sprayed onto parts that were not supposed to be yellow. I voiced concerns when picking up vehicle but was told to speak with the owner who was not there at the time. I requested a partial refund of ***** that was paid to have vehicle repaired. Owner denied refund.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/10/14) */ On 9/28/2021 Mr. ****** picked up is ******* Palisade after recieving his gloss black chrome delete with paint and caliper paint services. Later that evening I recieved a text from Mr. ****** stating that "Everything looks good except for the front grille seems to be a little damaged". He sent 2 pics of 2 small indentations which were 1-2mm in size or smaller than a sesame seed. I wasnt sure of what exactly I was looking at in the pictures and when I asked he said they were on the very edge of his grill and "appeared to be from a tool to remove the grill". This is the 4th ******* Palisade that we have performed a chrome delete on and we never remove anything other than the rear letters and emblems, as everything else can be painted while still on the car. When we remove letters and emblems we use a heat gun to heat the adhesive under the letters and pull them off by hand, scuff them, then lay them across a thin strip of tube tape, prime, paint, then clear them. This is our standard procedure whether we are performing a chrome delete on a ******** or a ******** or a ******** Once dried over night we put the emblems back with this adhesive strips. The strips release gases once applied and leave a white powder substance which is easily rinsed off. We do not wash vehicles at our shops due to hard water with harsh chemicals and metals as the water supply is from ****** Naval Base and not city water. It is clear in the pictures sent that Mr. ******'s vehicle had not been washed when he took said pictures. I had informed him that no tools were used to remove his grill, as the grill was painted on the vehicle. I asked Mr. ****** to bring it by so I could take a look and he said he would. 3 days later I received a text from Mr. ****** stating that he "decided not to bring the truck back in" and that he "already had taken it to the dealership to get repaired". At this point, by doing so Mr. ****** had voided his warranty and there was no further action I could take. The issue he had was extremely minor and could have been fixed in minutes. There is no way to justify a refund when I was not able to inspect the vehicle for myself or remedy any issues he had. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/10/15) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) There was no damage to my vehicle before taken to this business. My vehicle is a new purchase which I had for only 4 days before taking to this business. I contacted the business the same day by text regarding the damage and paint issues. The owner agreed to check vehicle. Per our agreement I took my vehicle back on 9/29. I was told the owner was not available and to come back another day due to the company having some legal issues. I do not trust this company to leave my vehicle with them again. I have estimates from 2 repair shops. They also stated they can see where they tried to use a tool to remove the grille. The repair shops state that for a 2022 Palisade you have to remove the bumper first before removing the grille. They stated they must have tried to remove incorrectly. Also the letter show removes show the same size area pulled up with the tool they must have used to remove the letters. The owner must not be aware that his employees are not following the process he described. This company is not a body shop and don't have the experience to repair the damage they inflicted on my vehicle. I have to now pay a body shop repair the damage to my vehicle from this company.
