      Good morning,

I have attached our initial authorized contract for the roof and plywood replacement for ********************** along with email communication with him over the last few months with our service manager *************************. We provided the replacement estimate on 12/5/23. He authorized the contract and paid his 50% deposit on 2/8/24. The roof replacement was completed on 3/12/24. ********************** contacted us with his concerns on 3/14/24 and ************************* made his visit on 3/20/24. We had some back and forth communication which you'll see attached and he requested a second visit with his wife present which took place on 4/14/24. They were looking at having a third party inspection done and **** recommended have GAF (the manufacturer) come out to inspect. That is where ***** follow *** started asking for updates and I have not received any updates on their inspections . Since the 4/14 visit, nobody from **** has been back onsite. We received our inspection from GAF and we wanted to rectify ************************** concerns. No return communication was received. We received claim filed with our insurance company Erie 7/16/24.  Erie agent tried to reach out to **********************, she did not receive return communication. A letter from Attorney General was received, after his review of our communication attempts, we were provided with two options. Replace the roof or refund **********************.

********************** expressed that he did not want us to redo the roof therefore we decided to refund his money. We are waiting on the signed release; upon receipt full refund will be executed. We also received inspection request from Fairfax County inspection office, we cancelled because at that time we had already let Attorney General that we were refunding **********************. The inspection proceeded, and passed inspection is attached. We did try to retify Mr. ************ concerns, but communication was a factor.

Should you need any further information please feel free to reach out to me or ****.

      Thank you.

      August 13, 2024

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, which I received from the arbiter yesterday (attached).  Peak made excuses for its faulty installation I fully understood from the inspection I paid for when GAF told us they no longer conducted field inspections, at the urging of Peak staff.  I am attaching a copy of that July 17 report for your information.  Peak's own manufacturer, GAF, found deficiencies in both the installation and products that Peak used on my house roof replacement. Following meetings with company representatives on March 20 and April 15, and following numerous e-mail exchanges, Peak refused to provide a refund.  ************ which did a bad and damaging roof replacement on my house on March 12, 2024, wanted to do it again.

After providing the company some time to reconsider a refund, I filed complaints with two ***************************** the *************** of the ******** General **************************** (OAG), the ******************* of ************ and Occupation Regulation, and with the Better Business Bureau.  After Peak cancelled the inspection on the ************** permit for this work nine times, I was able to arrange for a peripheral inspection on August 5 to close the permit so I can eventually get the roof replaced by another company.

An offer is on the table from Peak to repay me for most of my current associated costs with this case.  I am reviewing the attached release letter prepared by Peak Roofing Contractors, ***** of *********, ***  I will be providing suggested corrections to the text of the letter to the OAG.  When an agreement is finalized, I will let you know.

      Regards,
      *****************************
