White Top Auto:although all my paperwork has the business name listed as White Horse Auto. A short time before Wednesday April 12th I spoke to *********************** at White Top Auto inquiring about a red ****** Forester he had listed for sale on his website. He told me that vehicle had a deposit on it and would be sold. He informed me he had a 2011 ****** Outback he would sell for $8,500. I told him I did not see this Outback listed on his website and he stated this Outback was not online because he hadn't had time to list it and that all his vehicles sell before he can get them listed online. He told me how great this vehicle was and that I'd be very happy with it. On Wednesday April 12th I completed the online application on his website. On May 2nd, after many texts and phone conversations regarding the Outback and financing, ****** told me the car was ready for me to pick up. I met ****** on Wednesday May 3rd and purchased the vehicle. I have 64 pages of documents for financing, ********************** Warranty, etc. My online application dated April 12th contained accurate financial information, however, ****** altered my income on the application while in his office on May 3rd. While going over all the charges of the purchase, Waleed added in ************* and a 2 year Service Warranty. I told him I did not want those items because it adds to my monthly payment. ****** stated the bank will not finance me without it because they want to make sure they get their money if the car is totaled, and make sure it's repaired if it breaks down. Because Waleed told me I could not be financed without the Gap and Warranty I had no choice but to take it because I was in dire need of a vehicle. I trusted him with my car purchase. At the time, I had no idea he was lying to me. The Gap and Warranty added $3,295 to the amount being financed for the vehicle! On the contract Waleed shows I had a down payment of $3,000. I only gave him $1,000 cash as a down payment, which is shown on my receipt. I don't know why he changed my down payment to $3,000 on the contract. On my receipt for my $1,000 cash down payment, he dated it May 1, 2023, although I gave him the cash the same day I purchased the car, on May 3rd. When I initially spoke to Waleed about this 2011 Outback he told me the price was $8,500, but on May 3rd he had the price on my contract as $9,995! I did not have time to review the 64 pages of purchase documents I received from Waleed until 3 days after the purchase, on Saturday May 6th. At that time I discovered that ************* and the Service Warranty were OPTIONAL! "....not required to buy this car on credit"; "...not required to purchase or to obtain financing...."!At that time I realized the salesman, ******, I had been speaking to and trusting in this transaction, had lied to me when he told me the bank would not finance me without those items! I specifically told Waleed I did not want those items because it would add to my monthly payment. The only reason I took them was based on the lie he told me. If he was honest and ethical he would have told me they were optional and I certainly would not have taken them. There must be a financial gain for him to push customers to buy Gap and Warranty coverage. The next business day, Monday May 8th, I called the finance company, ***************************** to inquire if Gap and the Warranty were required as a condition for them to finance my car loan. They said, no, the coverage is optional and had no impact on their decision to finance my loan. I explained to them that the owner/salesman at White Top Auto told me otherwise. They told me I could cancel the coverages and the cost would be deducted from my loan which would reduce the number of payments. I told them I wanted the amount deducted to lower my monthly payments and they told me my salesman would need to cancel my contract and redo a contract without the Gap and Warranty, which would then reflect a lower monthly payment. I emailed my salesman, ******, to inform him I contacted the finance company regarding Gap and the Warranty and I requested he cancel my contract and do a new, correct contract. He refused my request. He would not respond to the email I sent him but he did send a few texts, exhibiting immature and unprofessional behavior. I called Credit Acceptance again and had them cancel the OPTIONAL coverages that Waleed made me accept. They could not reduce my monthly payments as I wanted, which is not fair to me because I would not have accepted the added monthly charges if Waleed had not of lied to me! I left a ****** review to express my extreme dissatisfaction with his lies, unprofessionalism, and unethical business practices. He responded on ****** accusing me of lying, although when I asked him to provide evidence of such lies, he did not produce any. He was insulting, he wrote publicly that I had bad credit, he wrote that I am an old lady, he wrote that I needed mental help, etc. Yes, I am older, and because ****** pointed that out in a public forum, that leads one to believe that he treats older customers differently than younger customers. That is not only disrespectful, but it is discrimination. As I responded to the lies he posted, he continued to repost 3 times, each time with more lies and more insults, and showing all of ****** how immature and unprofessional he is. Late last night he deleted his posts, and my review. If ever needed, the information could be retrieved from ******. Just because he deleted it from the public, it is still stored on ******'s end.*********************** lied to force me to buy Gap and a Warranty. He altered my income on my application. He showed an inaccurate down payment amount on my contract. He increased the price of the vehicle the day I purchased it. He publicly posted that I have bad credit. He publicly discriminated regarding my age. Used car salesmen like *********************** should not be in business! He is a liar, he is unprofessional, he is unethical, and he takes advantage of older people and customers who are in a difficult situation who feel they have no other options. There are many more details to this situation and I have the emails and texts as evidence. I am giving you just a summary of this situation and if more details or information are needed, I can then provide to you
