A short man named David(?) charged me $10.60, which was twice as much as I originally agreed to pay at the Carriage House Wineworks (CHW) tent at the The ************ **** * **** Festival on 7/16/22. The payment was made without my authorization, and I received no products or services from the company. When I arrived at the CHW tent, I clearly stated at the outset that I would pay no more than $5.00 for a glass of wine. David then gave me two micro-tastes [less than a milliliter each] of wine, and asked me which one I wanted a glass of. I chose the red wine, David poured it into a glass, I gave him my credit card, and before I was about to authorize a charge, I noticed the amount was $10.60 (per attached "****® ****** **** Card-**** Transaction Details") in small print on his card reader. I was shocked, and called David's attention to the fact that this was twice what I originally agreed to pay. He then said that red wines were $10 per glass. I replied that no one told me that and I did not agree to such a charge. David then proceeded to pour the wine out onto the ground, so I naturally assumed I would not be charged. Yet, when I got home and logged on to my credit card’s website, I saw that there was a $10.60 charge on my credit card. I then immediately looked up Carriage House Wineworks' contact info. (at ************************************/), called ************ and spoke to Mr. Mike F*****, who said he would look into my complaint. However, based on David's insidious attempt to charge my credit card without my authorization, I have no confidence that Mr. F***** will attempt to rectify David's illegal offense. I also wonder: How many other unwitting customers were taken advantage of--like I was? I also wonder if he will attempt to make other charges on my credit card without my permission.
