    They are dishonest, rude, uncaring, should be out of business. I've been on their auto fill for several years... yet they have only come once without me calling. It took 3 phone calls to get the to come this time & it was only because I was without heat. Then left me with clogged lines & I still had to call in someone else to clean up their mess. They would not apologize or give me any discount for all the trouble they caused. I wish I had changed companies long ago.

    I am writing this email in response to a complaint against Homestead Oil Corporation by Ms. ***** ********. I'd like to first state that it saddens and disappoints me to hear of this complaint. We strive to provide excellent customer care for each and every customer we deal with. I'd like to say that we strive to do this daily and are proud of our track record in the community we serve. I understand that we may sometimes fall short. But in this particular case, with Ms. ********, I feel strongly this is not one of those times we fell short. I'd like to address her complaint point by point so that you may have our side of the story. (1) That we are "dishonest, rude, and uncaring." I must disagree on these points. We provide fuel at an honest price to our customers. Ms. ******** stated to me and our other employees she wanted "that Trump fuel" and not "that Biden fuel". She complained numerous times about the price of fuel and that we should have filled her tank many months ago with "Trump fuel". We are seeing unprecedented fuel prices when we buy fuel and must pass this along to the consumer. Ms. ******** seems to think we could have somehow changed the price or given her a lower price. Additionally, she has stated she refuses to pay for the fuel we delivered (over $500 worth) and has so far sent a check for $29.92 only (I'm not sure why). She did not call 3 times about delivery. She called once and we then promptly delivered--on a Sunday when we would not normally do so and with no weekend delivery fee. She was on autofill. But she consumes so little fuel per year, only 77 gallons in the entire year of 2020, that we calculated she was not yet in need. This was a mistake on our part that we quickly remedied after her phone call. When I was informed of this, I spoke with her personally and apologized for this sincerely and profusely. Additionally, we only deliver fuel. It is not our responsibility to repair or fix customers' furnaces or lines. However, our driver that delivered her fuel went out of his way to try and help her bleed her fuel lines and restart her furnace (he has experience with both). He didn't have the tools with him as we do not normally do this, and she didn't have the tools either. He even attempted to find an open store to purchase the necessary tools but was unable to do so as it was a Sunday. In this way our driver went far above and beyond to try and help Ms. ******** with her heating equipment. (2) That we left a "mess" that she had to have someone else clean up. Our most experienced driver delivered her fuel. He made NO mess. There was no fuel spilt. We did not "clog" her lines or harm or break any of her equipment at all. We simply put fuel in her fuel tank. We believe Ms. ********** equipment had trouble prior to our delivery, not because of it. I believe Ms. ******** is referring to the fact that she had to pay someone to repair her heating equipment--not that she had to pay someone to clean up our "mess". In conclusion, I'd like to emphasize that Ms. ******** repeatedly complained about the price of fuel and seemed to blame us for this. It is my belief this is the catalyst for her complaint. I would like to reiterate that we have no control over the price of fuel and informed Ms. ******** of this in a professional and polite manner.
